Objectives of the Role: 

 

This role is to assist the AD/Associate Director in day to day running of client business. They must be proactive and inquisitive in their approach to solving everyday business and planning challenges whilst producing innovative solutions and media plans working closely with wider investment teams. They’ll will be responsible for overseeing the work produced by any assistants or Executives in the team and be expected to start autonomously producing high quality outputs that are ready for client consumption.

 

 

  Financial Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for the financial running of your accounts and follow/introduce systems that ensure smooth financial running across clients
  • Understand the importance of trade insurance, why it is needed and how it applies to each of your clients
  • All procedures are adhered to, such as Purchase Orders acquired and shown on invoices
  • Drafts checked and given back to accounts, including any amendments within 24 hours of receipt
  • Oversee the executive in ensuring all schedules/work sent externally is free of errors (grammatical, factual and formulaic)
  • Follow SOx procedures for all clients bookings
  • Understand the need for good administration

 

Business Responsibilities:

 

  • Fully understand how our business makes money and how your day job impacts on this
  • Proactively seeking to understand all media and emerging media opportunities – TV, Display, OOH, Press/Mags, Radio, Sponsorship, PPC etc
  • Enthusiasm to meet and build up a network of media owners relevant to your client’s business
  • Strong knowledge of desktop research & planning tools (e.g. TGI, Telmar, AdDynamix, Google Analytics) and their role in the planning process
  • A good understanding of taking Insights and Business Science tools into planning proceedures
  • Ability to manage day to day small to medium sized clients business
  • Take day to day responsibility for your clients, running status meetings, generating results documents with insight and rationales for future media schedules
  • Present client results, marketplace updates and competitive reports
  • Have awareness of trade insurance limits/POs etc and make sure they are requested and communicated to investment
  • Understand your clients KPI’s and how you can help them achieve them

 

People Responsibilities:

  • Proactively seek opportunities to participate/contribute to new business sessions
  • Work collaboratively / build relationships with Investment teams in understanding opportunities, developing plans and innovative ideas
  • Build up regular contact with clients, keeping them up-to-date on all media matters, both verbally and electronically
  • Build internal relationships with relevant Mediacom departments and learn when to use
  • Understand the wider network and how it can help.
  • Liaise with and learn from your line manager regarding managing any Assistants or Executive’s in your group, help with their on-going training and development
  • Ensure that the Assistant and Exec take control and ownership of their roles within the planning process and management/servicing of clients
  • Actively encourage and help to facilitate both in immediate team and the wider planning group

  • A clear understanding of different media types –and their role in communications/how channels impact on each other
  • Able to analyse research and identify key insights
  • Be highly numerate and able to analyse client performance data and results, interpret and provide future recommendations
  • Demonstrate an active interest in your client’s business, marketplace, and consumers
  • An understanding of the role of comms planning in your client’s marketing mix
  • Strong, concise written and oral communication
  • Able to (where necessary) confidently handle a client meeting, without line manager present, in a manner which meets a client’s expectation
  • Confident presentation skills, both internally and to clients
  • Adept at managing a diverse workload, and able to prioritise
  • Attend inspiration sessions regularly and apply learning’s to your client’s business
  • Be able to confidently write client presentations and thought pieces that are clear and concise
  • Begin to understand how to sell in difficult and alternative ideas as part of a client response
