Role Description

The key client responsibilities of this role will be The&Partnership Worldwide’s accounts, chiefly Toyota and Lexus EMEA. Time spent on each account and among new business will be flexible, based on ongoing workload.

The Integrated Planning Manager (Media & Audience Strategy) is a newly created role within the team, supporting the team of strategy and audience planners to develop multi-channel communications strategies, rooted in data-driven audience insights.

The successful candidate will showcase a clear understanding of comms and digital planning, and the role of media within the marketing funnel and consumer journey for each client. An appetite for interrogating diverse data sets and make relevant inferences will be essential, as a big part of this role is uncovering insights that supercharge strategy.

You will have a hunger for research, analysis and learning, and structure your strategic approach led by an ability to empathise with consumer experience.

The role requires a passion for insight, facts and figures, and to develop skills as a data storyteller.

You will assist with planning tasks, analysing data and a curiosity to uncover how we navigate the changing media landscape, ensuring our strategic recommendations are always proposing an effective solution that is grounded in audience data.

As coronavirus restrictions lift, m/SIX and The&Partnership are moving to a permanent flexible working model – a hybrid of at-home and in-office working. The&Partnership Worldwide’s London office is in the heart of Fitzrovia. Some travel may be required for major client meetings and conferences, but this is not expected to make up a significant part of the working week/month for this role.

For m/SIX clients that work under the fully integrated The&Partnership model, you will be required to work closely and build relationships with creative planning, customer planning, data & tech and account teams.


Role Responsibilities


50% of your time: Communications planning (multi-channel media)

  • Support EMEA strategy directors in delivering comms planning and audience strategies
  • Build a strong relationship with media planners across the EMEA network, inspiring uptake of central strategies and solutions
  • Inspire across functions and departments, sharing examples of planning best practice to help raise the overall planning output of the agency and network
  • Build relationships with key EMEA media vendors, with regular meetings


The remaining 50%: Audience Planning and data analysis

  • Be the expert in standard audience planning tools such GWI, TGI, YouGov
  • Collaborate with specialists to showcase insights from fast-moving data systems such as Google Analytics, Google Trends, Social Listening etc.
  • Providing support to the Audience Planning team in development and delivery of actionable audience planning strategies, drawing on relevant tools to share data-driven insight
  • Feed into the development of relationships with new data sources, tools and approaches, creating a point of view on relative strengths and weaknesses
  • Assist with encouraging EMEA uptake and usage of relevant tools and data, by assisting in training and fielding routine questions as needed.
  • Become an expert in all relevant audience planning tools and proprietary systems, including those from GroupM/WPP sources. (Full training on role-specific tools will be provided.)

Core Competencies and skills required

  • Previous media agency experience (minimum of two years) desirable
  • A curious mind – ready to challenge and unpack client briefs
  • Ability to communicate clearly, even when the source data itself may be complex
  • Translating needs from clients and internal colleagues into data analysis and insights. escalating within the team as needed
  • Ability to contribute effectively to multiple concurrent projects, working in teams in a fast-paced environment

Who will the role report to?

The successful candidate will report to the Group Strategy Director and be supervised on a ‘dotted line’ basis by two Audience Planners and two Comms Strategy Directors. The role will be working hand-in-hand with media and creative planners, client account leadership as well as wider specialists (e.g. in Tech and Digital), and as such they will each also be important stakeholder groups.
