The Role

Eight Bar is a group of strategists, planners, creators, traders, and scientists united around a common purpose: to use technology and data to make marketing as simple, streamlined and effective as IBM’s Watson has made data science.

The AD within the Direct Investment Team supervises all day to day implementation of site direct activity; with a particular focus on Content Syndication, native & display channels (digital & Print) as well as Digital OOH. Reporting to the Business Director, the Direct AD provides buying recommendations internally and directly to the client. The AD oversees the team’s execution of media plans, optimization, reporting, as well as other internal and client facing deliverables. The AD is also in charge of overseeing the Manager & Associates in their day to day work.

The Ideal Candidate

                      Provide clients with channel insight & recommendations across Brand to Demand channels supported by data.

                      Ability to provide strong data analysis, & insight for optimization based on historical performance.

                      Develop a good understanding of client’s business and competitive landscape.

                      Collaborate with Integrated Planning to ensure plans are on strategy and meet client objectives

                      Recommend optimal vendor mix & finalise/Approve RFP List

                      Responsible for adequate briefing to partners, ensuring briefing sessions are well prepared & detailed.

                      Negotiating/review all media pricing.

                      Plan Usage & management of media credits.

                      Review performance with junior team and recommend tactical changes to maximise campaign outcomes.

                      Oversee team optimisation sessions with Key partners.

                      Campaign maintenance ensuring quality control and adherence to overall media plan objectives throughout.

                      Oversee correct invoicing with the team, being the point of escalation for any invoicing issues that cannot be resolved.

                      Act as a liaison between agency & partners. Developing a point of view for relevant partners and new opportunities.

                      Ownership of all global tasks i.e. procurement docs, spend projections, quarterly value management.

                      Mentor Manager & Associates & aide their development.

 

Essential Criteria

                      3 to 5 years ofSignificant experience in digital paid media, with a focus on investment and execution.

                      Strong leadership and managerial skills to help junior team members grow

                      Client management skills to interact with stakeholders at multiple levels in the media planning process

                      Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify a problem and jump in to find a resolution

                      Ability to pull key insights for Corporate clients on ways to improve campaigns       

                      Mindset towards process optimisation, both through manual processes and through technology

                      Ability to work on multiple projects, demonstrating a mature ability to handle many things at once under pressure

                      Maintain a strong familiarity, if not outright expertise, with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and macros

                      Strong organisational skills with attention to detail

                      Strong quantitative and analytical skills

                      Strong communication, project management and time management skills

                      Detail oriented with exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

                      Understanding of 3rd party media tools such as Comscore

                      Strong understanding of interactive media tools; Prisma, Google Analytics and Sizmek

                      Knowledge of all aspects of Digital Media, including Social, Search, SEO, SEM, Mobile etc.
