Systems Tech are MediaCom’s Data and Technology experts, transforming MediaCom into the agency of the future. Data and technology are key enablers for MediaCom, helping reduce costs and create new products and insights that drive revenue and business growth. Systems Tech helps to drive this innovative emphasis forward, providing excellence through consultancy, project management, business analysis, data visualization and data engineering.

Systems Tech provide technology expertise and project management to create solutions for MediaCom.  The team’s responsibilities range from automating small-scale data transformation processes focused strictly on time savings to building large scale strategic platform and product implementations enabling media planning optimisation, creative analytics, ecommerce auditing and others.

 

The Systems Tech team drive data platform innovation to create exceptional global, regional and local market dashboards to enable our staff and our Clients to have the data needed to make the right decisions at the right time.

 

The team also work in partnership with GroupM and WPP, participating in and leading steering groups centered around the technology strategy to provide the MediaCom voice to steer the new Planning, Audience, Activation and Reporting platforms planned for 2022 and the future.

  

Objectives of the Role: 

 

The role of Project Manager serves as a bridge between Systems Tech PMO and various stakeholders across the globe. It will help bring people together as a focal point for how data is collected and visualised and technology is used and built at MediaCom, understanding the nuances globally, and working with colleagues across the business and within GroupM to understand use cases and workflows and shape solutions. 

 

Systems Tech’s data and technology products and solutions are key to delivering MediaCom’s ‘Seeing The Bigger Picture’ vision, helping to win pitches and grow client scope. We deliver specialist media technology products and data led services across a range of areas, from products that benefit Clients (for example data reporting and dashboards, media activation optimisation, media planning or insights applications) to internal business solutions (such as internal websites and automation). This role is an integral part of the delivery of our data reporting solutions and data products in Systems Tech.

 

The role has three parts:

  1. Serve as primary oversight of a slate of data and technology projects, globally, ensuring best practices regarding Project Management are followed, high quality output is delivered, and appropriate staffing/support is supplied.
  2. Working closely with the Director of Systems Tech, Project Directors and other Project Managers amongst others, this role is responsible for contributing to the maintenance and evolution of the processes, documentation, reporting and requirements within the global PMO.
  3. Communications of status and success across the business, globally, and represent Systems Tech with client and business stakeholders to C-suite level.

 

This role requires exceptional collaboration skills. Success in this role comes from the ability to work very collaboratively across the Markets, with peers in Systems Tech, across MediaCom and with GroupM. The role works closely with global Client teams and other business functions to understand the business challenges and expectations of technology products. The role supports pitches around technology and tooling.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability:

 

Deliver best practice on ‘MediaCom first’ data and technology projects, supporting all stakeholders through the process:  

  • lead the planning and implementation of projects assigned by Project Director 
  • facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables alongside client stakeholders
  • accurately translate business requirements into project requirements 
  • assemble and coordinate project staff across the Tech PMO, bringing in and aligning with wider stakeholders within ST, MediaCom, GroupM and 3rd party suppliers 
  • establish consistent workflows with internal and external business stakeholders 
  • manage project resource allocation 
  • track project deliverables using appropriate tools 
  • provide direction and support to project team, applying agile methodologies 
  • work with delivery team and stakeholders to ensure overall end product quality 
  • steer meetings involving internal and external resources, of all functions and levels of seniority 
  • present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions  
  • define and evolve the functioning of PMO, professionalizing and refining scope
  • Promote visibility of Systems Tech work and win credibility across the business
  • Along with Project Director, act as point of contact for incoming new business requests – supporting in pitches, scoping discovery and costing of new opportunities
  • Create content to support promotion of activity – case studies, testimonials and product descriptions to share business wide in newsletters, the ST website and Global Product Hub, amongst others
  • Build and evolve new business collateral to support growth across Systems Tech broadly

The Project Manager is experienced in delivering complex projects with a depth of knowledge in data and technology solutions in the media and marketing space. You enjoy bringing new ideas to solve old and new problems, working with a variety of people across the business. You have a good grasp of media and an excellent understanding and depth of experience across data and technology.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Leadership: demonstrated experience of leading a cross-functional project team and 3rd party technology vendors 
  • Technical understanding: sufficient to be able to solve problems and guide delivery of projects
  • Understanding of data: Experience working with media data and data focused media products.
  • Agility: Familiarity with Agile methodology and a proven track record of delivering successful project outcomes
  • Matrix management – demonstrated experience of managing high volumes of smaller, day to day activities in a matrix management environment 
  • Self-sufficiency: ability to learn quickly with minimal direction
  • Gravitas: demonstrated experience of managing the senior business stakeholders, and pragmatically balancing stakeholder expectation and demand with delivery capability and capacity
