Job Overview

We are looking for an excellent Planning Manager to join the planning team within TED to help run some of the UKs most well-known and loved soft drinks brands.

We have an excellent relationship with the client team and wider cross agency network. Building on this solid foundation, and alongside our deep understanding of both their brands and business (having worked with the client for 8+ years!) we are increasingly delivering exciting and innovative campaigns which we are excited to take to the next level with a fresh mind on the team.

In this role, you would be responsible for the planning and delivery of multi-media campaigns for our iconic drinks brands, spending c£20m annually across exciting, impactful, and fun activations. You will help manage a large team of (lovely) clients, as well as cultivating great relationships with the wider agency team and with the internal team of specialists within TED, as well as in Creative Systems who we work with regularly.

Current exciting projects you would be involved in span developing a multi-million-pound gaming on-pack partnership, developing an ad-funded documentary with Channel 4, expanding ecommerce, activating football partnership around next year’s Women’s Euros and Men’s World cup – as well as helping to plan and activate our biggest new drink launch ever.

In this role, you would manage a senior planner and planner within the team, supporting an Associate Director and Business Director, as well as playing an active role in the wider department in monthly meetings and socials (when we can again!) if you are keen.

Who does the role report into?

You will report into the Associate Director, and of course the Business director on the team, but as a large portfolio with many brands (who all have sizable sub-brands) there is lots of headroom to take a clear lead on some of the brands and key projects, so a great opportunity to take leadership and develop in this role.

What are the measures of success?

  • You become a trusted and established member of the TED team as well as the planning team, building strong team and client relationships, maintaining a great team vibe and 8+TRR scores
  • Using this as a foundation, you are able to deliver exciting media campaigns that deliver against the brand objectives and ultimately contribute to the growth of our client’s portfolio (and that you are proud!)
  • Through a great understanding of the client business and challenges, you find opportunities for our wider agency network to support their objectives to also help our business grow

What would you expect to achieve in the first 3 months?

  • Established key working relationships with the core team internally, at the client and with our network of agencies.
  • Feel embedded in the TED dept and know  the wider team
  • Strong grasp on the brands, their challenges, and our media plans to support these.
  • On the way to becoming a central force in driving key campaigns for our brands, taking the lead on some of the brands (which we would work together to discuss which would be best!)

What will you need?

  • Enthusiasm
  • Strong team ethic and ability to collaborate
  • Confident communicator, to include active participation in client meetings, agency meetings and delivering presentations with passion and flare
  • Good at knowledge sharing and keen to support junior members of the team
  • Great working knowledge of all media and how channels influence business performance 
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Interest in strategy and a love of Byron Sharp (laws of growth are life 😊)
