In September 2020 The&Partnership (part of EssenceMEdiacom) was appointed to build a global in-house content agency for British American Tobacco’s new category products (Velo, glo and Vype). The appointment was driven by BAT’s desire for a new global digital partner to help them transform how they produce digital content to support the global growth of new category brands. This lead to the creation of Beat. Starting with a Global Studio based in London along with Local Studios located throughout the globe. As part of our continued global expansion, we have been building a series of regional studios to support the activation of our creative platforms in market. Having successfully implemented new teams in London (North Europe) and Tokyo (Japan & South Korea) and Rome (Italy, Spain and Greece).
The&Partnership will be responsible for the end-to-end content framework, from setting digital strategies across social, CRM and web to content creation and global delivery. The newly formed Local Content Studio will be a fast moving ‘marketing newsroom’ building and adapting banks of creative assets, that are created, distributed, measured and improved in real time. The content produced will be for products that offer customers a greater choice of more enjoyable, less risky products and not for traditional cigarettes. The agency is playing play a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of these new categories which reduce the health impact of the BAT business.
We are looking for a Beat CE Digital Account Strategist who will be a bridge between brief owners and the creative team showing exceptional communication skills, strategic thinking, and overall consistency for each Beat Studio project.
Responsibilities cover:
- Support the business brief owner in the brief development process (write inspiring, single-minded creative briefs, on the brand)
- Be the strategic and process bridge between the business and Creatives through concept and content development
- Be a brief guardian – ensuring there is quality in all aspects (narratives, storytelling, single-minded message, innovative solutions)
- Be the brief owner on the Beat studio side, make sure all touchpoints are aligned with business and we have a clear strategy to create the needed content/assets
- Support Beat Team Lead with consistent strategy and communication within Beat studio
- Proactively participate in the business meetings and workshops from preparation through in-session activities to reporting back to Team Lead
- Streamline business feedback and provide own opinion and feedback during creative development to drive us towards creative excellence
- Ensuring performance metrics in all touch points are kept up to date, insights are drawn and recommendations made to enable agile response by the studio and client
- Working closely with day-to-day Beat clients to respond to comments, questions, and opportunities across the content studio
- Being in-house strategy team leading strategy development, crafting best-in-class consumer journeys across all TPs, and initiating test & learn initiatives
You’ll need
- C1 level in English
- At least 5-6 years of experience as a digital account manager, digital strategy manager, or similar
- Experienced in brief creations, digital content, and creative judgment
- Excellent communication skills to navigate needs and daily teamwork
- Experience in originating and delivering the strategy behind digital, content, and social projects
- To express opinions about complex strategic problems to help build strong arguments and find the best solutions to client briefs
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of how to use social and digital channels
- Ability to produce documents and presentations that describe communication performance to clients, where data and findings have been turned into insight and given direction
- To show examples where the customer has been taken through stages of a relationship with the brand to oversee the current strategic planning
- Evidence of well-told narratives and well-structured ways to communicate thinking, from reporting back on a research task to strategic approaches
- Confidence when presenting to clients; taking them with you on a journey
- To prioritize and juggle a busy workload with multiple moving parts
- To be familiar and curious about the latest social developments and changes, with a clear opinion of how brands are creating bonds with consumers nowadays
- Experience in another highly regulated sector such as Pharma or Alcohol (not mandatory)
