Role context:

Working closely with the 6 newly created European Colgate Hub Teams, the Client Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day to day running of client related activities and supports the team in delivering agile and innovative solutions.  This involves navigating multiple stakeholders both within the Wavemaker network and specialist teams.  The Client Manager will play a critical role in providing visibility of local market activities to the central clients and, maintain consistency, accuracy and on-time delivery.

Media is evolving rapidly at Colgate.  Colgate is investing a higher percentage of its total media budget towards digital media and establishing Centers of Excellence for digital activity, including programmatic buys and PBU models. Colgate is actively embracing data driven marketing using 1st, 2nd and 3rd party data -- to build audience architecture/target profiles. There is a strong focus behind connecting data and creativity generating automated and insight driven campaign optimization.  

About Hills Europe


Hill’s is a premium pet food brand that is a subsidiary of Colgate. Hill’s has accelerated its digital audiences and is focused on developing greater 1PD as well as testing creative, in particular dynamic creative (DCO). Traditionally, Search has been a priority, however, the brand is embracing programmatic and hope to innovate in this space where possible. There is also a project in 2022 that will start to shape their e-commerce strategy going forward.




  • Act as a primary point of contact for Hubs and local markets, building a strong, trusted relationship with key stakeholders
  • Work closely with Hubs to help answer queries, brief them on activities and help direct them on their responses, as well as ensuring the quality of delivery and compliance with agreed strategies and approaches.
  • Working with Hubs to report local market media spends, trends and environment and competitor’s media strategies and communication, activation and product activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of global reporting (e.g. campaigns, competitive etc.) and help provide analysis and insight into results and recommendations
  • Develop client documents, POV’s and presentations that are insightful and tell a clear story
  • Manage day to day requests and work-streams from contributing to the annual strategy, to managing ad hoc projects, and ensure work is delivered to a high quality and meets deadlines
  • Foster innovative thinking and ideas with particular emphasis on creative content, digital and technology innovation, and the use of data
  • Continually evolve an understanding of Colgate’s business, consumer purchase journey and the broader industry sector
  • Collaborate with and understand the roles of the specialist teams internally in order to co-ordinate and add value to client work
  • Champion the work of Colgate Europe, sharing best practice and insight across the Wavemaker network, as well as bringing new insight into the team.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments, products and processes, including their relevance and potential application for Colgate.
  • Support Wavemaker and Red Fuse network in ensuring strategic tools are used for the best output for Colgate.
  • Oversee the finance billing process to collate PO’s, update budget trackers, monitor client billing and ensure teams are reconciling bookings.

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of successfully coordinating multiple stakeholders and media activity across a European network, preferably with CPG category experience.  They must possess strong organisational and project management skills, be able identify and solve problems quickly and know when to escalate, as well as building strong relationships with colleagues and clients.  They will demonstrate clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present information with the audience in mind and adding a point of view or insights.

Client Managers should continually use their initiative to stay immersed in the client’s business and category to challenge thinking or improve ways of working, including having a keen interest and a solid understanding of digital and data solutions and their relevant application, in order to make sound recommendations.
