Planning Account Director, Career Team

 

Overview of role

 

We are looking for an Account Director to join the Career team, a specialist division supporting clients on their Employer Branding and Attraction Strategies. You will work on a range of UK and Global accounts managing their recruitment attraction and employer branding campaigns. You will work with the Senior Associate Director and wider team to ensure high quality, effective strategies and media plans are delivered working on a variety of campaigns specifically planning and buying digital and working with our specialist media teams within the agency.

Measures of success

 

In three months, you would have:

  • Built strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams and clients
  • Worked closely with the core team and internal specialist teams to deliver responses to complex briefs
  • Played a key role in taking client briefs and presenting response to briefs back to clients
  • Become accountable for the quality and output of the work of the team, ensuring that responses are thorough, and that SLAs are adhered to
  • Started to understand the commerciality of clients and the team

 

In six months, you would have:

  • Become the ‘go-to’ person for clients – trusted to deliver great quality work and provide valuable insights on their campaigns and the market
  • Delivered a number of campaigns, both in conjunction with the Senior AD and independently
  • A good grasp of all processes and be able to challenge and make recommendations for improvement
  • Been supporting the Execs and Planners on the team on their performance, development, training needs and overall wellbeing
  • Supporting the Senior AD in monitoring commerciality of the account
  • Identified opportunities for additional MediaCom products and Services in meeting the clients business objectives

 

 

In 12 months, you would have:

  • Become a trusted source in the agency and with clients on Recruitment & Attraction and the trends impacting the market

 

 

Responsibilities of the role

 

  • Be the key contact for your clients and work to develop strong links with more senior clients, creative agencies and media owners. 
  • Ensuring you know and understand what MediaCom departments and different parts of the agency can do, and how this may benefit and support your work for the client.
  • Taking an entrepreneurial approach to identifying new areas for additional income and sharing these thoughts with the rest of the team
  • Responsible for quality control of planning/buying/reporting output and service for client set
  • Continuing to suggest new opportunities and routes to market, including new revenue streams
  • Taking responsibility for your own training and continual development, including ensuring that your performance meetings take place, that you have clear objectives and that you attend relevant training
  • Ensuring team members manage media bookings and accounting efficiently, dealing with the accounts department when appropriate 
  • Supporting the Senior Associate Director with their management responsibilities e.g. helping them to forecast, manage team administration, and organise training etc.
  • Being supportive of your team members, offering support and guidance when needed
  • Ensuring that your team have regular performance reviews, have an up-to-date training plan and attend training and workshops planned for them

 

 

What you will need

 

  • Experience of managing team outputs and client relationships
  • People management experience to support Senior AD in the management and development of Account Planners and Execs
  • Digital media agency background, preferably knowledge of other media channels would be useful but not essential
  • Preferably from a B2B background or recruitment agency but not essential
