The Role Objective

The People Business Partner is responsible for partnering with the GroupM Data & Technology and other GroupM operating companies at a strategic and tactical level to deliver business outcomes through making the best use of the People function and acting as a strong role model. 

You will have a thorough knowledge and experience of complex global matrix business models and how they operate with the ability to deliver people plans that enables the business to drive and deliver against their strategic priorities. 

Reporting directly into the GroupM Group HR Director this is a role which requires you to make effective and timely strategic decisions independently of others, having considered appropriate commercial data with a clear outcome in mind.

A key part of the role is being able to handle a fast moving, constantly changing environment with a smile!  This role is central to maintaining a cohesive and positive working environment within the HR team, so being hands on and ready to help with whatever comes up is essential.

You will sit with the GroupM Data & Technology team in London at 15 Alfred Place and GroupM UK HR team at 26 Red Lion Square.

Responsibilities

·         Play an integral part in setting the overall people strategy for GroupM Data & Technology with the Chief People Office (New York based) and supporting other GroupM Opcos, paying appropriate attention to leading edge employment trends both nationally and internationally;

·         Work as a true Business Partner with the opcos and the GroupM HR teams to implement the most appropriate and effective ways to embed the people strategy to achieve a high performance culture;

·         Develop trust and confidence with senior stakeholders to foster true collaboration;

·         Build strong and credible relationships with key stakeholders, up to senior leadership level throughout the business – in all global GroupM Data & Technology and others GroupM Opco markets (Singapore, US and Germany for GDT), but primarily in London for GroupM

·         Demonstrate the ability to drive the positive direction of the wider GroupM and GroupM Data & Technology and another GroupM Opco People team through voicing creative ideas and working with others to enable the delivery of added value projects and improvements in day to day servicing;

·         Truly own and be accountable for the People business plans for functional business areas and the effectiveness of the plan’s delivery by the People team

·         Ensure the performance management process is effectively implemented and that appropriate actions are identified and delivered in order to improve performance;

·         Manage strategic projects/change projects companywide as necessary;

·         Deliver commercially focussed solutions in partnership with line managers;

·         Lead on the delivery of solutions to complex people challenges and get to the root cause of the issue;

·         Ensure that all major people interventions are well planned and delivered and are outcome, not process driven;

·         Drive timely and co-ordinated business improvements based on data insights and trend analysis;

·         Deliver an environment where GroupM Data & Technology and another GroupM Opco team members can achieve personal growth and development in order to build succession planning within the HR team through the use of GROW and the annual Talent Mapping exercise;

·         Deliver against reward cycles, generating meaningful metrics and HR insights to your client group which truly make a difference;

·         Contribution to the generation of ideas and assist the wider GroupM / GroupM Data & Technology and another GroupM Opco People team and Group HRD in the delivery of HR projects and initiatives across GroupM Data & Technology and another GroupM Opco and their markets.

·         Work with the GroupM HR team to ensure that payroll is completed in a timely and accurate manner on a monthly basis, working with the HR Coordinator and GroupM Payroll to successfully sign off monthly.

·         Work with GroupM Talent to support where needed on the delivery of open roles, ensuring a smooth onboarding processes is followed from before they join and throughout their journey at GroupM Data & Technology and another GroupM Opco

·         Provide support for GroupM Data & Technology and another GroupM Opco’s office in Karslruhe, Germany.  This would include support for employee relations, talent and performance management, etc.  Holding “office hours” in person in Karlsruhe a target of 2 business days per month. 

 

Skills

·         Have a proven track record as a pro-active and self-motivated HR professional.

·         Possess the ability to use good judgement when advising the business on appropriate actions.

·         Confidence in building relationships with all levels of staff, up to and including senior leadership level.

·         A compelling communicator, persuasive and confident in your client management and presentation technique.

·         Must have proven general commercial knowledge with the ability to translate this into making appropriate decisions to achieve the right outcomes without the need for escalation.

·         Proven experience of acting as the HR lead on change initiatives, for example, restructures, cultural change programmes and TUPE transfers.

·         Up to date knowledge and working experience of Employment Law and the ability to advise on complex employee relations situations and the ability to advise on complex employee relations situations without continuous recourse to specialist advice.

·         Ability to analyse information and present it in a concise and impactful manner.

·         Successful experience in influencing and negotiation skills.

·         Works collaboratively – recognises the value and responsibility of working in a team and seeks to maintain and build effective relationships both internally and externally
