Reporting to:

  • Wavemaker Studio Production Lead

Role context:

  • Wavemaker Studio – Project Manager (Production)
  • This role works as an integral member of the Project & Production team on the day to day management of Wavemaker client and internal production-led projects.
  • You will be able to apply the right processes, methods, skills, knowledge and experience to deliver campaigns to a high standard.
  • You will build strong relationships with clients, production partners and internal Wavemaker teams, providing production expertise to ensure that all production work is delivered on time, on budget and to the Studio’s benchmark of effectiveness – beautifully crafted and creatively executed to stand out on platform.
  • You will be experienced in production and project management in a creative and / or media environment, and used to leading projects with a range of internal and external stakeholders.



Core responsibilities:

Project Management

You will be expected to lead & support on multiple projects, demonstrating proficiency across all stages of a project’s life cycle.

  • Initiation

You will work with the Production Lead to respond to production briefs and look at proactive opportunities to create impactful work for our clients and agency teams.

  • Planning

You will oversee/support project handovers, creating a blueprint for achieving the project’s goals on time and on budget and to the required quality assurances.

You will create detailed project plans to include stakeholder contacts, timelines, production schedules and status updates and take a key role in project kick off meetings.

  • Execution

You will be responsible and accountable for the allocation of resources and building deliverables, creating updates, status reviews and performance reports.

You will own the quality control of output on your projects, ensuring that every production campaign has a clear set of measurable outcomes and that all stakeholders are agreed on these outcomes/KPIs.

You will support/manage production workflow ensuring that you are reviewing all content assets and providing client feedback as well as your own.

  • Monitoring & Control

You will ensure that each campaign is delivered in line with project timeline and that any required changes are agreed with all stakeholders.

You will take responsibility for all status updates with clients & production partners and provide regular reporting to stakeholders to ensure full visibility on active projects.

  • Closure

You will lead the end of project phase working with the content team to communicate its completion to stakeholders, holding a wrap up debrief session, supporting on evaluating success & learnings and working with the team on a final PCA report.

You will also ensure all financial admin is completed e.g. invoicing, reporting revenue, updated revenue and spend trackers and all final assets are saved in relevant places on the system.


Client Servicing:
  • You will be expected to build strong, effective relationships with clients and production partners for your campaigns maintaining relationships of trust and respect.
  • You will convey a professional manner in all client communication with timely and accurate responses.


  • Accurate and timely reporting of hours on timesheets
  • Maintaining relevant sign off and PO information, tracking PO’s against all costs
  • Ensuring all 3rd party production costs are booked on to invoicing systems in a timely manner
  • Ensuring all fee billing instructions are completed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Ensuring any cost invoices have the right PO associated and follow the correct sign off procedure
  • Understanding the resource allocated to specific tasks on scope of work and monitoring hours – flagging to your line manager when these are higher or lower than expected


  • Work alongside colleagues from other Wavemaker teams to ensure all aspects of the campaign are delivered in an integrated fashion
  • Throughout your production project work, you will focus on relationships and communication as key elements of project delivery.
  • You will be expected to work closely and be mentored by the Production Lead as together you work to identify & complete training needs, focus on EQ development and make continuous improvement a priority.
  • You will work closely with the Production team and assist the Production Lead in improving ways of working and campaign management systems.


Required Skills / Experience:

  • Experienced in the art of Project Management within a Production-related role at a brand, media owner, production company or media / creative agency.
  • Have a portfolio of projects and able to demonstrate an effective mix of methods/tools with Leadership skills and an understanding of how to create a vibrant project culture to create successful work.
  • You will need to be APM PMQ qualified, or be expected to join our Apprenticeship Programme to work towards the qualification in your first two years with Wavemaker.
  • You will need to gain an excellent working knowledge of our tools and systems passing Group M Media Systems Academy training during your probation period.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products and / or Asana would be an added bonus.
