Role purpose:

A role exists within Mindshare Outcomes within a growing SEO & Content specialist team. We are looking for an experienced SEO Business Director who will play an instrumental role in further developing our SEO proposition. In this role, you will own senior client relationships, support the team skills development, and aid in the business development of the Owned & Earned product offering and functions. The SEO Business Director will also be required to manage the Account Directors in the team and support new business pitch work and upselling of existing clients across our functions.

Mindshare Outcomes is a digital division within Mindshare of integrated performance specialists, managing Programmatic, Paid Search, Paid Social, SEO and Content for our global and domestic clients.  The Mindshare Outcomes SEO & Content team are responsible for defining the strategy to achieve organic growth for our clients, delivering technical excellence, data driven insights, content production and end to end content marketing campaigns

Our portfolio of clients includes Apple, TKMaxx, Unilever, Legal & General, Saga & more… We are thinkers and doers, relentless in the pursuit of success for our clients. We do this by continually seeking and finding the perfect connection between their products and potential customers through owned, earned and where relevant paid media.  

The Role:

The candidate will report into the SEO & Content  Partner. Working within the Mindshare Outcomes SEO & Content team, they will be responsible for leading cross channel knowledge sharing and contributing to channel integration across Mindshare Outcomes. The ideal candidate will be driven to improve our proposition, processes and expectations for the team. You will be expected to lead by example, growing the client base by upselling new services and contributing to team PR opportunities.

  • Passion for staying at the forefront of the SEO industry, and ability to disseminate that knowledge to the team with your own opinions
  • Awareness of other digital channels and how SEO can be used to connect other forms of media & drive effectiveness
  • Extensive experience using SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Deepcrawl, URLProfiler
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to support more junior members of the team with this where necessary
  • Some experience or knowledge of programming languages would be an advantage but not essential
  • Experience with large ecommerce clients would be an advantage

Principal responsibilities:

Performance

  • Provide strategic direction to the team to improve client performance 
  • Ability to scope projects for our clients with accompanying performance forecasts to demonstrate the value your strategy has the potential to drive
  • Be responsible for the standard of output of the SEO team, both client facing and operational 
  • Apply best practice rigor to the execution of SEO & Content campaigns
  • Provide outstanding levels of client service in a proactive manner

Profile

  • Be the senior client contact for your client portfolio
  • Be active in sharing your POV on the SEO industry and how we can continue to improve
  • Build a reputation as a trusted senior advisor for internal and external stakeholders
  • Play an active role in pitches, and other cross agency initiatives
  • Surface the best work within the team and promoting this internally and externally via case study submissions / award entries etc.

People

  • Support Account Directors to own all aspects of SEO, including our current capabilities and leading them to enhance our current proposition
  • Take responsibility for your team’s development and career progression within the agency
  • Review the quality of team output and take appropriate action to improve delivery
  • Play an active role in the recruitment and interviewing process to build strong teams

Process

  • Strong process capabilities, with an ability to monitor account service levels and support the Partner with finance and recruitment processes
  • Develop ways of working that maximize client output, whilst minimizing operational input
  • Ensure briefing, planning and finance processes are strictly adhered to by the team

Product

  • Maintain a forward thinking and innovative approach in the development of SEO
  • Become an expert in all SEO & Content services offered by Mindshare
  • Set best practice expectations and support the Account Directors in developing the team to these standards
  • Push the boundaries of our current product, exploring what we can do to make it better by developing our current offering and adding additional services
  • Establish strong working and communication processes with all Outcomes and digital teams to provide guidance to facilitate exceptional integrated digital campaigns
  • Understand the services delivered by the wider Outcomes team, and their benefits

Profitability

  • Manage all scoping, profitability and resource allocation across your client teams
  • Collaborate and take ownership of new business and pitch scenarios
  • Increase budgets of existing client base, by proving the value of the channel
  • Surface additional SEO & Content services to increase Mindshare revenue streams
  • Be commercially minded, ensuring effective management of available resources; maintain awareness of all scopes of work for your client portfolio
