Data Engineer

What is it?

We’re sure you can tell us, with your experience so far, better than what we recruiters can tell you, but Data Engineering at GroupM is really about working within a small but agile team of engineers and visualisation specialists. While the role will initially interact primarily with stakeholders within the team, interaction with non-technical internal clients is also a key aspect.

You will be working with the Lead BI Developer to gather requirements, scope and manage projects and assist the wider team in developing, implementing & maintaining data pipelines and ETL solutions.

Key responsibilities within the role will encompass designing, implementing, monitoring and optimising database solutions & setups as well as developing and implementing best practices and guidelines for data management.

What we need from you

You will have some experience working in a data-oriented environment, with a solid understanding of database concepts and exposure to working in cloud setups.

We are seeking an individual with solid SQL skills (data definition and data manipulation) as well as experience working with ETL tools to build and manage data pipelines.

Exposure to Agile working practices in a client-facing role would be highly beneficial for this opportunity and an understanding of the digital media landscape would stand you in good stead to add value to the team.

What you get from us

Whether you know your Mindshare from your MediaCom, or if GroupM is a new name for you, we are an organization where opportunities are endless.  We have a variety of agencies specializing in everything from Programmatic to Paid Search, and are an umbrella group of agencies belonging to the wider WPP ecosystem.

There is no such thing as ‘the perfect’ candidate, and we believe learning never stops.  We have our own GroupM university with a variety of courses and trainings which will help develop your existing knowledge, and build new capability at whatever level you join us at.

We are not a “family”, we’ll leave that to your loved ones outside the office, but we are a group of people who really care about your wellbeing at work, and at home.  From mental health allies to support you during life’s changes, to ERG’s (Employee Resource Groups) helping you to feel connected not just to your team or immediate colleagues but other individuals from similar backgrounds, helping to drive policy change and impact ensuring you can bring your whole self to work, and have an environment that is safe to be recognized by more than just the title in your email signature.

Of course we give you all the usual generous annual leave, bonus, medical and other benefits-but now is not the time for small-print.  Did we mention a 4pm finish on Friday’s, and even more flexibility across Summer months, and beyond dependent on your own situation and external responsibilities? Well, now we have.
