Media Planning

What is it?

We’re sure you can tell us, with your experience so far, better than what we recruiters can tell you, but Media Planning at GroupM is really about creating best in class media strategies, partnering with channel specialists in teams like AV, digital and OOH, helping clients understand their audience, category and competitive landscape and their opportunities for business growth.

What we need from you

For individual contributors, we need you to be an expert in all things media.  You’ll always be one step ahead in terms of what is next from a channel or media owner, combining your experience and curiosity to deliver solutions that work, whilst being able to pivot if the results are not delivering against original expectations.

You have robust campaign planning experience, but are eager to learn and are able to communicate new opportunities to your colleagues and clients.

For management roles, we require this to be complemented with a passion for coaching and training other team members to develop their skills, grow their careers, and foster a culture of curiosity across the organization to the point where it’s colleagues outside of the media team who know to come to you with new media opportunities in their own verticals and specialisms.

At leadership level, we need people who have seen how media has evolved, and have been hands on in delivering best in class solutions before, either in house or at another agency.  We want you to take ownership of senior relationships, ensuring our people are the first to know of any changes or new opportunities, so we can relay these to our clients, and bring market firsts, positioning us as a leader in the market.

Whatever level you fit in, you are committed to making advertising work better for people and for society.

What you get from us

Whether you know your Mindshare from your Mediacom, or if GroupM is a new name for you, we are an organization where opportunities are endless.  We have a variety of agencies specializing in everything from Media Planning to Paid Social, and are an umbrella group of agencies belonging to the wider WPP ecosystem.

There is no such thing as ‘the perfect’ candidate, and we believe learning never stops.  We have our own GroupM university with a variety of courses and trainings which will help develop your existing knowledge, and build new capability at whatever level you join us at.

We are not a “family”, we’ll leave that to your loved ones outside the office, but we are a group of people who really care about your wellbeing at work, and at home.  From mental health allies to support you during life’s changes, to ERG’s (Employee Resource Groups) helping you to feel connected not just to your team or immediate colleagues but other individuals from similar backgrounds, helping to drive policy change and impact ensuring you can bring your whole self to work, and have an environment that is safe to be recognized by more than just the title in your email signature.

Of course we give you all the usual generous annual leave, bonus, medical and other benefits-but now is not the time for small-print.  Did we mention a 4pm finish on Friday’s, and even more flexibility across Summer months, and beyond dependent on your own situation and external responsibilities? Well, now we have.
