Our approach

Our ambition is to drive Good Growth for our clients.

Good Growth is about delivering growth that is enduring and is considerate of people and planet. Media is a powerful force, and we need to be mindful of the responsibility that it brings. We help our clients make better decisions by ensuring we use media in a trusted, inclusive and sustainable way. We recognise that in order to drive Good Growth, we need to place people at the heart of everything we do. Understanding people, not demographics allows us to place media meaningfully into their lives.

Good Growth is a big ambition – one which inspires change for the industry but also for our agency and we achieve this through our values of Energy, Empathy and Impact.

Working for Mindshare

Our brilliant people allow us to deliver our ambition. We invest heavily in their development to ensure they are progressing and thriving wherever they work in our business. We also think inspiration for our staff is key and our pinnacle and flagship event of the year, Huddle, connects people, opinions and perspectives across borders and is all about learning something new and participating.

Committed to Diversity & Inclusion

We have a big dream at Mindshare, to become the most inclusive place to work in the country! This will take time but the whole agency is passionate about making it a reality. To support this, we currently have 8 Employee Resource Groups available for our people to join and be a part of including, Roots, PrideM, Women in Business, Enable, Declassify, 0Borders, ADAM and Working Parents. These groups hold the agency to account for making progress and, along with our Mental Health Allies, design and lead events and initiatives that help us create a welcoming environment to all and a place where everyone can be their most confident self.

Role Objective

We are recruiting for an aspiring Account Manager to join our specialist Local team within Connections Planning here at Mindshare. The Local Team are a bespoke team of media planner and buyers, built to service a selection of our clients who require line by line activation to support their new store openings, relocations and regional tests.

As a team we are closely aligned to Connections Planning, who are a department of experienced media planners across a range of well-known award winning brands, allowing the Local team to tap in to a larger network of great minds across the industry. This role offers a brilliant and rare opportunity of allowing you to be a part of both planning and execution of cross channel campaigns. It offers great insight into the full matrix of marketing communications including client relationships, strategic thinking, cross channel planning, media activation, specialist teams, activation, relationships with media partners and measurement.

About the role

You will be expected to report into the Business Director and Account Director on the Local team as well as work closely with our specialist OOH, Social and AV teams. You will be primarily based in our London office, but you’ll have the option of remote working as part of your working week, as part of the Mindshare and GroupM flexible working policy.

Collaboration is at the core of our team’s philosophy. We understand what it means to work on a Localised plan, have a keen eye for attention to detail, and therefore what it means to work collaboratively to deliver responses across all levels.

You will be expected to act as a liaison to our clients in delivering media plans and rationales, as well as bridging the relationship between our client and our specialist teams.

You will be expected to demonstrate experience and knowledge in:

  • Knowing the tools and means to build addressable and non-addressable media to validate the local media approach for a new store opening, ensuring that the channels selected can be reached at the scale required and to meet the individual store’s challenge. Showing that you have carefully considered the store location, without a one shoe fits all approach.
  • Connecting the dots between the data we get from, the client, media owners and other local planning/mapping data sources.
  • Designing the connections plan as the channel specialist as well as working collaboratively with channel specialists such as social, audio visual and OOH.
  • Day to day management of campaigns, plan delivery, bookings and reporting across the team and your direct reports.
  • Act as a key liaison to our clients, with management of PO tracking and reconciliations.
  • Designing a Local measurement framework and optimizing campaigns when live.
  • Working closely with our preferred suppliers, keeping up to date with new offerings and opportunities for Local.

  • Have an interest in delivering end to end planning and buying, from client brief through to buying and trafficking media.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and comfortable delivering detailed line by line responses.
  • You show clear skills in either cross channel planning with examples of localized thinking OR skills in media print and digital buying, with specific knowledge in granular postcode targeting using client data.
  • Ability to draw clear insights and implications for media
  • Demonstrate a passion for media and understanding of what makes a great media campaign.
  • Take responsibility for the upfront work that needs to happen in order to deliver a great response to brief to our clients capturing all of their core KPIs
  • You care about proving your campaigns work! How? By being able to create a holistic measurement template relevant for your brand and applicable to every campaign that is digestible (clear stop start continue learnings that can be adapted across multiple store openings without a one shoe fits all approach)
  • You are confident in presenting with passion and conviction, managing senior client relationships, and collaboratively leading client projects and tackling challenging conversations.
  • You are excited to work as part of a team; immediate, wider department and specialists as required. Leading by example though presence and contribution. Taking the responsibility for working in a collaborative, inclusive way
  • You demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy in output and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a proactive desire to continually improve own knowledge and wider skill set
  • You are open minded, flexible and have a challenger mindset.
