Mindshare Outcomes is our new integrated outcome-based unit that delivers across addressable media for both Mindshare and Neo clients leveraging all GroupM and WPP capabilities. Outcomes focuses on design and activation for addressable media such as programmatic, search, social, performance analytics, SEO & affiliates.

Job purpose:

The Business Director, Outcomes, Social will hold a key role in the development and ongoing management of Mindshare’s new Outcomes proposition. As Business Director, Outcomes Social, they will have direct responsibility for the output of the Social offering. They will initially be responsible for being the lead on some of the Outcomes’ key accounts, manage the team and support the Channel Partner in the implementation of the channel roadmap. This person will be a key contribute to the creation of a single Outcomes solution which encompasses all the great elements already in existence across the business and evolve it into a single market leading Outcomes offering. The BD Outcomes Social will be responsible for benchmarking the quality of work delivered by the team against the set of clients and agreed objectives in Paid Social.

They will also be supporting the Channel Partner in expanding the agency’s paid social offering (eg. Influencers activation, consultancy etc.) as well as driving revenue growth & profitability, processes implementation & best practice, training and upskilling of the team, as well as helping raise the profile of Mindshare’s paid social offering in the industry.

 

Reporting Structure:

 

The BD, Outcomes, Digital will also hold a seat on the Outcomes Leadership Team and will report directly to the Channel Partner Social Outcomes, and you will work very closely with other BDs, Partners, Managing Partner, Outcomes WW, and Managing Partner of Operations.

Key skills & knowledge:

As a leader within Outcomes, the Business Director, Outcomes, Social will have a proven track record in managing, leading and inspiring a team of channel specialist. They will be expected to be able to demonstrate their Digital expertise to help drive our Social solution forward whilst also being comfortable with managing all elements of a soft P&L. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to comfortably discuss the impact of social activity and possess the skill to cross-sell and up-sell other digital channels to help grow our clients business. They will also have had experience with influencers activation and strategy.

We’re looking for an exceptional communicator who can act as the point person for Outcomes across his/her portfolio of clients, drive consistency and world-class campaign delivery.

 

Principal responsibilities:

 

Developing our product

  • Responsible for the Social capability for group of clients and proactive development of our capabilities. 
  • Full Social channel integration and development of Best Practice Guidelines for the Outcomes Practice.
  • Play a key role in the development of the Outcomes Design and Deliver (Planning & Buying) framework to build a holistic approach to Outcomes.
  • Responsible for the Integration of key disciplines/markets into the strategic development as well as the planning process ensuring that all key recommendations integrate insights to deliver against client’s business outcomes.
  • Establish and nurture a relationship with all key partners (Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, Snapchat, etc.) and in collaboration with the other BDs and Partners, develop annual JBPs and a QBR process for Mindshare Outcomes
  • In collaboration with the wider management team, support the creation of a consistent, challenging, but exciting recruitment experience for candidates that allows us to find and secure the best talent in the market
  • Support Global and EMEA teams in the development and implementation of Outcomes and take a leading role in cross-channel elements across Design and Deliver for Mindshare.
  • Responsible for multichannel New Business, including but not restricted to supporting pitches, building creds, launching new products and services, upselling/cross-selling, prospecting etc.

Raising our profile

  • Surface and share great work from the team and ensuring that case studies of are regularly created.
  • Proactive contribution to relevant industry awards, creation of an awards roadmap and report on awards performance (submitted, shortlisted, won/lost, etc.)
  • Regular development of opinion pieces related to multi-channel to be shared across EMEA, build external and internal profile and act as a thought leader in the Digital space.
  • Contribute to key industry events and represent Mindshare Outcomes externally.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Clients, Client Leads, as well as offering strategic guidance to help grow the business and strengthen the relationship
  • Work with HR/Finance, and other business leads to ensure the Outcomes story is positioned correctly with recruiters
  • Develop the profile of Mindshare Outcomes through training, presentations, templates, one-pagers, and other communication
  • Support Senior leadership and line manager with regular updates on up and coming innovation, changes to industry landscape
  • Active participation in social sharing and liking, comments, resharing of company and key Outcomes personnel posts to help raise profile of Outcomes

  • Play an active role in defining the profile of candidates entering the Outcomes team and ensuring there is a consistent and welcoming onboarding experience for all new starters
  • Establish a relationship with key senior clients, through QBRs/proactive initiatives.
  • Provide direct support to your Line Manager and Head of, Business Director(s), Account Director(s) and wider team.
  • Full accountability for talent certification which will include encouraging teams to be 100% certified at all times, organize training sessions with partners when required.
  • Regularly update the team on live initiatives, business performance, new business opportunities and any other relevant topics
  • Ensure all team members have SMART objectives and development plans, tailored to their needs

 

Driving our process

  • Identify and drive the implementation of the right technology to remove silos and streamline communication.
  • Work with your line manager, HR and Finance teams to develop and maintain a clear, simple finance process that eradicates errors.
  • Constantly review all our processes, test & learn, optimization, budget management and other processes to identify opportunities for improvement in effectiveness or efficiency
  • Key contributor to Defining, Designing and Delivery of all processes, way of working etc. Including improving and scaling what’s already in existence, creating new ways of working and eradication of old ineffective and inefficient ways of working and where possible the inclusion/development of automation to help us operate more effectively.
  • Development and maintenance of Outcomes budget management and forecasting processes to help eliminate areas like overspends and underdeliver

 

Ensuring our profitability

  • Overall responsibility for the soft P&L for the group of client(s) assigned. Support the Channel Partner in owning and operating the Social P&L and provide regular Monthly updates to line manager. This will also include creating an annual Business Plan and updating the New Business sales Pipeline.
  • In collaboration with relevant stakeholders, identify opportunities for negotiation with clients/client leads where additional funding is required for resource, or SLA/SOWs need to be reviewed/amended.
  • Work with Partners, Heads of/ Business Director/Account Director(s) to ensure client resource allocations are adhered to, or flagged to the line manager if/when scope negotiations are required
  • Support and deliver new business pitches and drive the new revenue streams agenda.
  • Commercially driven and forward thinking in the expansion of business opportunities, entrepreneurial in mind-set and always looking to develop incremental or new services both centrally and locally
  • Competent and confident with managing media finance, agency revenue reporting, and solving any outstanding finance queries.

Delivering client performance

 

  • In partnership with Client Teams, Partners, Business and Account Director(s), lead the Digital conversation for clients.
  • Ensure the team is creating and updating account roadmaps for every client, covering testing, innovation, growth and other elements associated with Outcomes.
  • Ensure reporting is focused on actionable insights and look for ways to automate and drive value.
  • Deliver a consistent, best-in-class approach to Social, rooted in the Mindshare Outcomes Best Practice Framework and raise any barriers to this to channel Partners and Managing Partner Outcomes.

 

 

Personal performance measures: 

The Business Director, Outcomes, Digital will predominantly be measured on the output of others – the primary objective is to create an environment where others will be inspired and motivated to deliver world-class work for our clients and continue to develop in their career.  Specific measures include:
