AV Account Manager


Overview of role


MediaCom handles the media planning and buying for some of the world's biggest and smartest advertisers.  Supported by keen consumer insight, analysis and experience, we are part of the largest media planning and buying network in the world.


We are looking for a diligent AV Account Manager who has experience and knowledge across all AV channels; TV, Online Video, Addressable TV, OOH TV, Cinema and Audio to join our AV team working across Sky, NOW, Chase & 3M.


Reporting of the role


This role reports directly into the AV Account Director and a Senior Associate Director, along with reporting into our Investment Lead and relevant Trading Heads regarding value management, quality and channel coordination.

Measures of success


In three months, you would have:


  • Gained a good understanding of our team and agency, how your role fits into the team and what processes we must follow.
  • Got up to speed with all client’s business and the pace they work at.
  • Independently pick up buying of at least one of the brands monthly TV campaigns.
  • Be able to complete weekly VOD reports and spot times.
  • Contribute to weekly buyers meetings and department meetings.
  • Start helping the senior members of the team plan campaigns particularly VOD and Cinema.



In six months, you would have:

  • Taken the lead on monitoring your own AV campaign, as well as successfully delivered PCAs.
  • Developed a point of view on our plans’ performance and be able to make recommendations for improving delivery and results.
  • Gained a thorough understanding of our financial processes and taken a lead in resolving any PIQs and queries on the account.
  • Be able to plan VoD and Radio campaigns inline with agreed AV strategies.



In 12 months, you would have:

  • Become a trusted port of call for the client whenever they have AV queries.
  • Be a go to and trusted member of the Business Unite for any AV questions and requests that come up from comms or other media teams.
  • Developed strong commercial understanding and an in-depth understanding of the client’s business.
  • Started help with the TV planning sheets and client TV sign off documents.


Responsibilities of the role


  • Independently buying large scale TV campaigns inline with value and quality deals.
  • Support on VoD planning and help to book all VoD activity on to relevant systems.
  • Plan and buy radio campaigns in line with client guarantees with support from senior team members.
  • Lead on the day-to-day finance and billing process across all channels, accurately booking money on to relevant systems.
  • Help resolve finance issues with senior members of team.
  • Help with the training of junior members of the team.
  • Lead on pulling together and delivering of PCAs across AV media channels.
  • Lead on delivering media inductions to internal new starters and junior clients.
  • Play an active role in a coordination team.


What you will need


  • Knowledge of the UK marketplace
  • Experience buying across TV, VoD, Cinema and Radio
  • Knowledge of industry standard planning and buying tools (all media eg BARB, Media Ocean, Caria, Prisma…)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with high attention to detail
  • Collaborative and ability to build strong relationships
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Great analytical skills are desirable as well as proactively seek out learning opportunities to further develop their thinking
  • Good at working to tight deadlines under pressure
  • A real team player who has the ability to share their knowledge
  • Driven and committed
