WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As a member of Global Cloud Operations, you will be a part of a team that focuses on operational reliability engineering within a cloud-based infrastructure. You have a passion for providing solutions through automation and believe in practicing a DevOps philosophy in your work style. As a manager you will be responsible for overseeing technical infrastructure and ensuring smooth operations of all IT systems. You will supervise a team of Cloud Engineers and work with other departments to ensure technology solutions meet the company needs. This is a hands-on position, requiring active involvement in executing various projects.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Partner and engage with cross-functional teams in delivering cloud-based infrastructure solutions. Solutions will focus on automating tasks and moving towards an Infrastructure as Code environment.
  • Drive conversations with development teams to incorporate operational best practices in system resiliency, deployment, recovery, security, and daily operation of applications being developed.
  • Research, evaluate and incorporate new technologies and concepts into existing and new frameworks.
  • Proactively identify areas to improve efficiency and effectiveness and recommend and implement solutions towards them.
  • Oversee/supervise the work of team members, taking on the role of technical project manager for larger projects consisting of other team members as required.
  • Transfer of knowledge through documentation and training.
  • Participates in on-call rotation.
  • Work with a limited set of requirements.
  • Context switch between assignments / projects and performing daily tasks.
  • Act as liaison between team and other groups as required.
  • Pick up new responsibilities as required.

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Cloud operations experience.
  • Recent hands-on administrative experience within cloud environments (GCP, AWS) with a preference towards GCP.
  • Recent work experience in automating tasks within a cloud-based environment
  • Proven work experience with provisioning and deployment tools (Ansible preferred)
  • Proven work experience with infrastructure coding tools (Terraform preferred)
  • Experience with container orchestration and management platforms (Kubernetes, helm).
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, Nagios, Stackdriver)
  • Experience with data warehousing (Big Query, Snowflake)
  • Skills in presentation and documentation
