MediaCom Manchester Investment Team are recruiting for Spring 2019!

MediaCom handles the media planning and buying for some of the world's smartest advertisers.  Positioned as the Content and Connections agency we are part of the largest network of communication systems thinkers in the world.

In 2019 we will be recruiting for roles from Assistant, Account Executive and Senior Account executive levels in our Media Investment teams, across offline and online channels.

The Senior Account Executive Role

As a Senior Account Executive within our Media Investment team, you will be supporting the Account Manager and Account Director within your team. You will be acting a lot more independently at this level across a range of tasks to ensure client briefs are planned and activated at a high standard, and on time. You will think creatively for proposals and produce the new and different against briefs, ensuring you are keeping abreast of the media landscape as you do so and channels become connected.

It’s important for you to have passion for media knowledge across on and offline channels, as your role will also encompass motivating and developing the team effectively to manage campaign’s performance across these channels too.

At this level you will be comfortable in the financial responsibilities of the role, leading by example in all financial procedures and ensuring the same high level is instilled in more junior members of the team through supporting their development.

As you progress within this role, you will be take on greater account management responsibilities and work with the new business team to support new opportunities for Mediacom. You will take ownership of planning and buying media campaigns against the clients objectives and have much greater participation in relevant media owner/and client meetings to keep strengthening you communication and presentation skills. You will also take greater responsibility of contractor/publisher reconciliations positions within their safe trading window and control the output quality from the campaign reporting sheets.

To increase your responsibilities, providing learning support for the Assistants and Account Executives through coaching and training, will be a very core part of your role and so important in empowering and motivating them to deliver outstanding work.


You will have:

  • Media Buying/Investment and Activation experience from an agency, inhouse or media owner background.
  • A clear understanding of different media channels, their role in communications and increasingly how they are becoming more connected
  • Demonstrate an active interest in your client’s business, marketplace, and consumers.
  • A high degree of numeracy with strong analytical skills
  • Openness to share mistakes, problems, or issues with line manager to learn and improve
  • Enthusiasm and passion about what we do
  • Be curious and interested – don’t be afraid to ask
  • Diligence in delivering against pre-agreed timescales and strong attention to detail
  • Strong, concise written and oral communication;
  • Listening skills – how to take a brief, ask open ended questions, take account of client concerns
  • To be able to communicate verbally in an effective way with other members of the team
