About Finecast


Finecast, a WPP company specialising in addressable TV, launched in the UK in September 2017.

As TV audiences’ fragment across a range of platforms and as viewing behaviours evolve, TV advertisers are grappling with how to continue making best use of their most trusted medium. Finecast was created to help solve this challenge.


Finecast enables advertisers to precision-target viewers across multiple on demand, linear and live streaming TV environments. Finecast gives advertisers the ability to deliver targeted ads to audiences watching TV content across multiple broadcasters, connected devices, set top boxes, over-the-top providers and game consoles – all through a single point of access with standardised measurement.


Finecast optimises delivery across the entire addressable TV marketplace. With access to hundreds of different targeting segments, from socio-economic to life stage, purchase and financial data, advertisers can identify and reach viewers whenever and wherever they are watching


About the team


Finecast is live in the UK, Australia and Canada. But also planning on being live in a further 5 markets in 2020. The team is made up of an expanding team of 80+ (growing to over 150+ in 2020) spanning Engagement, Operations, Client Services, Marketing, Business Operations, Finance and Product, Data & Analytics functions.

The Role Responsibilities:


The Global VP of Marketing will report to the CEO. You will inherit a team of marketers that include brand marketing and work with product marketing professionals. This marketing leader will deliver on high level vision but also prove to be operationally effective. This position is all about getting things done over getting them perfect.


The Global VP of Marketing will spend most of their time initially developing brand growth platforms and strategies that translate Finecast’s beliefs and visions of the future of television onto the global stage.


The role will be roughly divided into:


50% marketing operations & global brand development.


Special attention will be given to the applicant’s experience and commitment to all factors that directly impact building and leading high-performing teams and creating an environment that enables employees to do their best work.


30% thought leadership & strategy development.


Extra consideration will be paid to those that have built and/or transformed marketing functions in the early stages of a company’s growth. Ideal candidates will have been a key contributor in building a repeatable and predictable revenue growth engine.


20% ecosystem development.


Global VP of Marketing should strive to gain a deep understanding of Finecast’s products and customers and build close working relationships with GroupM agencies, partners, and marketing peers across WPP.



Key role responsibilities will include:


  • Oversee the entire marketing function, leading marketing initiatives aligned with all strategic business planning
  • Drive global brand leadership of Finecast in television ecosystem (broadcasters, content producers, OTT players, SaaS platforms, and television/digital media measurement.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies based around social digital, events, partner, and channel marketing
  • Work directly with the leadership team to develop and deliver the overall marketing strategy for the company
  • Drive and ensure a cultural awareness of the marketing strategy and vision across the company
  • Build excitement for marketing initiatives by inviting participation and collaboration from senior leaders and wider company as appropriate
  • Lead a team of full-time marketing specialists and outsourced marketing resources, such as a designer and event manager to assist in these areas
  • Develop a blueprint of client experience management including client onboarding, educational programs, awards, and client recognition
  • Cultivate consistent client conversations and case studies
  • Evaluate current strategic positioning and investigate new opportunities to reach our intended audiences
  • Create a targeted approach to demand generation
  • Support Finecast expansion to make sure Finecast stay consistent all over the world.



Candidate Requirements


Finecast seeks a marketing leader that is passionate, knowledgeable, and a constant learner in the transformation of television-first media space, with extensive experience developing marketing strategies and building effective operational teams across borders.


This is not a position for a marketing generalist or a box-checker; rather a futurist of tv-centric media and wellrounded global leader that can impact the business holistically and build bestin-class marketing capabilities that accelerate sustainable growth.


Most importantly Global VP of Marketing should be excited about the future of TV and eager to help shape and define the role that advertisers can play as it evolves



The following skills and attributes will be essential:


  • Ability to spend significant time travelling to global markets. Travel is a big part of this role
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar Head of Marketing (CMO) (leadership) position, preferably in a television or media company
  • Experience working in a tech start-up environment (highly desirable)
  • Direct experience in global brand development, brand franchising, product marketing, and developing a globally dispersed team
  • Ambitious, hands-on attitude and comfort with owning the “brand” across geographies
  • Ability to develop intimate partnership with Finecast and GroupM senior leadership and our agency development teams
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale, complex projects and bringing original ideas forward, especially in fast-paced business environment
  • Have built a global team of marketing specialists
  • Worked in adjacent sectors to television (television first not digital first)
  • A brand genius who has built start-up brands
  • Ability to develop killer strategy and value props to serve broadcasters, adtech, measurement and agency communities.
  • Great taste in design and great copywriting.
  • Excellent communication with charisma and presentation skills; can tell a compelling story and develop new perception of a brand
  • Experience managing external design and PR agencies to amplify our leaders’ reputations and brand voice in the media space
  • BA/BS in Marketing or similar
