Head of Marketplaces, Nordics 

 

Overview of the role 

With Amazons entry to the Swedish market, we are continuing to build and scale our capabilities within e-commerce and marketplaces. This is a high-profile and critically important role as it is tasked with establishing our marketplace practice in the Nordics. With a focus on Amazon, you will start building a team with extraordinary ambitions. Together with our Nordic e-commerce sponsor group you will identify client needs, define our offering, and implement engagement and delivery models – and start building and scaling a successful operation. 

 

Who we are looking for 

As this is a senior position with a high level of responsibility, you will: 

  • Be able to work autonomously and be self-driven 
  • Preferably have experience of a leadership position within e-commerce 
  • Have experience of advising senior leaders 
  • Be able to create and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders 
  • Have experience and expertise in designing and implementing e-commerce and/or performance media strategies 
  • Have experience of managing large cross-functional teams and projects 
  • Have experience working with technological and creative applications 
  • Have experience managing and improving the quality of client e-commerce strategies 
  • Have experience in building high-performing direct reports and teams through mentoring and coaching 
  • Utilise analytical skills, with experience in using data-driven decision making 
  • Have an interest in e-commerce innovation 
  • Have a pragmatic and optimistic approach where you see opportunity in challenges and embrace change 
  • Have an open communication style, support our feedback culture, and welcome diversity 

 

Within the first year, you will: 

  • Establish a new high performing Nordic marketplace team out of Stockholm 
  • Work closely with our Nordic e-commerce sponsor group to identify client needs, define our offering, and implement engagement and delivery models 
  • Ensure that we as a company have the capabilities to deliver leading consultancy, content, and advertising solutions on Amazon across the Nordics 
  • Manage partnerships with other agencies within our WPP/GroupM network, that will be used for delivery 
  • Manage stakeholder alignment at all different levels across our group 
  • Develop and execute relevant training together with our senior digital leadership and partners 
  • Be internal and external expert and the “go-to person” for Amazon and marketplaces for our people and clients in the Nordics 
  • Drive external communication initiatives such as PR and events on Amazon and marketplaces, together with our marketing team 
  • Drive sales on new and existing clients, together with agency client directors 
  • Develop commercial models that drive revenue and profit growth 
  • Set a plan for how we successfully scale our operations 

 

Reporting 

This role reports directly into our Managing Director, Digital Services in Sweden.

  • This is a full-time role which equates to:
    • 37.5 hours per week
    • 30 hours per week for 10 weeks over summer
    • 6 weeks of vacation per year
  • Market-based pension plan
