The Team

 

The central planning team is responsible for delivering overall strategy & media implementation across the key markets in EMEA for Dell Technologies.

The focus of the Central Planning team is to ensure that the client’s campaigns are run as effectively as possible and directly in line with client business needs, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be a key part in the success of this team.

 

To be effective in this role the candidate will be given the opportunity to learn and understand how Dell Technologies operates and is structured, apply their media and communications experience in terms of media planning, campaign management and seek new ideas and opportunities to maximise our campaign impact and further improve the strong existing relationship we have built in terms of client collaboration and partnership.

 

It is essential that they bring creditability to this role both in terms of technical knowledge, strong interpersonal abilities and operational skills. They should motivate and inspire confidence with both our team and our client stakeholders. This role requires an understanding of B2B marketing principles, how the media market operates, plus a good skillset in negotiation. There is a particular need for Dell technologies in EMEA to provide a best in class evolution of approach to ABM, building on our ways of working with vendors in a bespoke way based on our client’s needs, but also provide new strategies and recommendations with the cookieless future impacting some existing elements of our approach. The client is looking for us to be Forward Thinking and provide Innovation opportunities and the successful candidate will be involved in these strategic workstreams. It will also require an ability to be highly motivated, numerate and articulate, both when speaking to clients, writing documents and analysing results in a fast-paced environment.

 

The Role

 

The Senior Planner Buyer will:

  • Coordinate strategic planning activities between clients and internal stakeholders
  • Create media strategy & rationale and work with AD to package and present back to client.
  • Understand and implement the System planning process where necessary, which the candidate will be trained on where they start in the role.
  • Interpret client briefs in order to develop a strategic and implementation plan.
  • Conduct Research and interpret data to apply strategic insights to help define central planning approach.
  • Participate in all client meetings as required and contribute to the production of any presentations.
  • Identify key risks to the delivery and performance against brief on a regular basis and manage remedial programmes to mitigate such risk; escalating as appropriate and as obliged.
  • Contribute constructively to the identification and improvement of central processes which could deliver higher-performance.
  • Act with initiative, contribute to the definition of new processes and support the rollout and implementation e.g. training of the team in such processes.
  • Remain up to date with market trends so as to advise customers of future strategy.
  • Understand the markets and customer demographics.
  • Take accountability for sharing key customer information across the team and with other teams as appropriate.
  • Ensure relevant business knowledge is deployed, shared and retained within the team and shared across the wider function where relevant.

 

Skills, Behaviours and Experience Required

 

  • Significant experience working within planning and buying media campaigns including exposure to programmatic media
  • A strong understanding of programmatic advertising
  • Highly analytical with a honed ability to problem-solve
  • Ability to think strategically and with a future focus.
  • Team player with excellent people skills
  • Demonstrate excellent competency of using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective and efficient working style
  • Technically minded yet service-industry-suited with the potential to develop into client leadership and more advanced staff management roles
  • Excellent written & verbal English language skills/grammar; a strong communicator
