Job title: Global Commercial Finance Analyst (GCFA)

Group: Global Client Commercial team

Reports to: Global Client Finance Manager (GCFM)

Location: Central Saint Giles and Rose Court, London

 

 

OVERVIEW

Working as part of the Global Commercial and Finance team, you will support the GCFD (Global Client Finance Director) and GCFM (Global Client Finance Manager) with their role of partnering with the Managing Partner responsible for the overall client relationship through reporting, financial and commercial analysis, and commercial operations.

As a part of the wider Commercial team, which encompasses not just the commercial function but also the audit and legal function. An element of the Commercial Analyst role is to support the whole team by ensuring key markets data is always kept up to date. Additionally, there may be occasions when the audit or legal team would require assistance with simple tasks.

Identified Areas of full Accountability

  • Admin: Annual Forex Rates & Detailed Market Contact List
  • Communication with the Markets: Commercial Intranet Site Maintenance

Core Tasks and Responsibilities

1) Support

  • Produce Client P&Ls by utilising the internal reports (Monsters and Multipliers) and sharing with the GCFM and GCFD’s for their review and utilisation on their clients. Finalised reports should be accompanied with key notes and variance analysis, a Senior Finance Analyst (SFA) should understand the key areas within the P&L which might require commentary.
  • Collect and consolidate information on Global Client Competitors to assist the New Business department.
  • Produce accurate and up to date client rebate reports for the GCFM and GCFD’s to share with their allocated clients. Finalised reports should be accompanied with key notes and variance analysis, a SFA should understand the key areas within the rebate which might require commentary.
  • Support GCFM with all other contractual reporting for global clients. Reporting should be in a format which is client ready, with any key notes or commentary available should it be required. Guidance is of course always available but standard contractual reporting should need minimal instructions from the GCFM.
  • Review and record key variances for global client media spend and revenue captured in Cartesis vs other streams of reporting (such as Monster and OMI reports)
  • Support GCFD and GCFM with the contractual reporting for their clients, by sharing the client reporting calendar and ensuring that it is kept up to date with all contractual obligations.
  • Support the GCFD by ensuring details held in previous team projects (Remuneration grid, Hub structures etc.) are up to date.
  • In order to support GCFM and GCFD be the best partner to the Managing Partner’s, a strong understanding of the commercials such as remuneration model, contractual arrangement (local vs global) , Active markets, Billings and Revenue and R/G Treatment is required to support these aims

2) Responsible

Internal Reporting reports to be remit of Commercial Finance Analyst including:

 

  • Manage the whole process of collecting Multiplier data from all markets, query by variance analysis, correct where necessary or advise markets on corrections necessary and consolidate when finalised all market Multiplier reports. Ensuring an accurate and complete summary of all markets multiplier rates is available, for forecast and full year. Be the point of contact for markets and commercial team members. Ensure all Multiplier reports are signed off by GCFD.
  • Manage the whole process of collecting Monster data from all markets, query by variance analysis, correct where necessary or advise markets on corrections necessary and consolidate when finalised all market Monster reports. Ensuring an accurate and complete summary of all markets Monsters is available, twice a year, year end and end H1. Be the point of contact for markets and commercial team members. Ensure all Monster reports are signed off by GCFD.
  • Manage the whole process of collecting OMI data from all markets, query by variance analysis, correct where necessary or advise markets on corrections necessary and consolidate when finalised all market OMI reports. Ensuring an accurate and complete summary of all markets OMI’s are available, twice a year, in time with the majority of the client contractual rebate reports. Be the point of contact for markets and commercial team members. Ensure all OMI reports are signed off by GCFD.
  • Manage the whole process of collecting Data Collection info from all markets, query by variance analysis, correct where necessary or advise markets on corrections necessary and consolidate when finalised all market Data Collection reports. Ensuring an accurate and complete summary of all markets Data is available, once a year. Be the point of contact for markets and commercial team members. Ensure all Data Collection reports are signed off by GCFD.
  • Ensure any changes to the legal status/ownerships of markets is up to date. The base of this report is to be taken from the Data Collection exercise which needs to be updated as and when there are changes in the markets.

3) Accountable

  • Responsible for preparing analysis in support of fee negotiations and client profitability reviews.
  • Preparation of financial analysis for contract compliance purposes and ongoing client support.
  • Responsible for producing analytical work, sourcing information, and preparing reports to better enable Mindshare teams, across the world, to service our global clients assigned to your responsibility.
  • Ensure the timely completion and accuracy of internal reporting
  • Ad hoc special project work and client requests for commercial information as requested.
  • Collection, consolidation, and analysis of data from Regional and Local Finance Directors to support key commercial decisions as well as ongoing commercial compliance.
  • Lead the collation and preparation of information for internal audit requirements in the Self Cert process.
