JOB TITLE: Data Science & Tool Development – Account Manager

The Marketing Sciences team is charged with accelerating our clients’ growth by integrating data and analytics into marketing decision making. We work with senior marketing and business decision makers to provide analytical solutions for their most pressing marketing challenges. Our role as a team is to:

  • Find creative ways to use data and analytics to uncover powerful marketing insights that drive growth for our clients
  • Design and implement measurement and effectiveness frameworks that drive performance in marketing
  • Develop new analytical products and tools that can identify opportunities for growth and performance improvements in our clients marketing
  • Cultivate a culture of effectiveness in our client’s marketing by evangelising and enabling experimentation, testing and constant learning



As an Account Manager, you will be involved in creating data led decision support tools and applications. These tools will play a crucial role in helping non-technical users to take data driven decisions by simplifying complex analytical insights into easy-to-use applications.

This role combines creative thinking, numerical aptitude, coding ability, data visualisation and presentation skills. You will be involved in all aspects of this process from conceptualising, designing, prototyping, creating, and evangelising the tools and applications.

You will also be involved in demonstrating the tools and will provide end users with the necessary training to use the tools. You may also be involved in agency pitches to showcase your creations to clients.

In addition to creating new tools, you will also be partly responsible for maintaining, improving, and further developing some our existing tools.



  • Numerate / analytical degree such as statistics, econometrics, mathematics, sciences (including social sciences) or computer science. Candidates from other educational backgrounds will also be considered if they demonstrate a high level of competence across other criteria
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in analytics is essential, with some experience in data led application development highly desirable
  • A good understanding and knowledge of using statistical methods within a business/marketing/media environment


Technical skillset:


  • An understanding of building analytical applications from initial ideas through to deployment and bug fixing
  • High level of data literacy with a strong ability to organise, automate and process data in a systematic and repeatable way
  • Familiarity with R for use in data and analytical work is essential. Experience of developing data-led applications in R Shiny or other frameworks (e.g. Python - Dash and Flask) is desirable (but not essential)
  • Familiarity with the use of versioning software e.g. Git or similar
  • Some experience / capabilities in one or more of the following analytical skillsets is desirable:
    • Econometric modelling / market mix modelling
    • Business forecasting
    • Machine learning methods as applied in a marketing context
    • A/B testing and multivariate testing
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following Python, SQL, VBA desirable but not essential


Consultative abilities:


  • Understanding of marketing / advertising challenges and the ability to create data led applications to inform decision making in this area
  • Ability to work with non-technical stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate into ideas and concepts for applications / tools
  • Ability to quickly pick up and learn the use of business tools to inform decision making. Prior understanding of common marketing tools and systems is a plus
  • Good presentation skills – both verbal and written. Ability to communicate data led insights in a simple way
