Position at Wavemaker

Role Context

As part of the WM Analytics team, you will produce campaign performance and management information reports for internal and external clients and to service Wavemakers analytical requirements. You will scope and develop ad hoc analytics projects that provide key optimisation recommendations to our clients businesses, providing training where necessary. You will also manage and support less experienced members of the Analytics team, whilst developing an autonomous way of working and fostering innovation.

About you:

Technical Skills

  • You have an expert understanding of standard Excel
  • Highly numerate with experience of data manipulation and visualisation and experience of one or more visualisation tools eg Tableau, PowerBI, Google Data Studio, Datarama, Omniscope
  • You have an understanding of digital advertising and associated technological principles (e.g. ad serving, tagging, web analytics (GA), attribution, etc.)
  • Advantageous if have experience with ad serving technology (e.g. DFA, Sizmek, AdForm, etc)

Essential skills, knowledge and experience;

  • The ideal candidate will ideally be educated to degree level or have experience in an analytics role within media
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and able to develop new skills quickly
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous, yet able to work to deadlines
  • Highly motivated with a “can-do” attitude
  • A strong team player, able to work with team-mates to prioritise workloads effectively
  • Knowledge of the advertising industry highly desirable
  • Ability to develop working relationships with the wider Wavemaker team
  • Ability to absorb and apply new processes
  • Excellent time management and the ability to work on multiple tasks.

About the role:

You will work with your manager and the wider Wavemaker account teams to produce campaign performance reports & dashboards for both internal and external clients.


Campaign Management & Performance:

  • Design, create and produce campaign performance and management information reports & dashboards from client specification, whilst taking a more proactive role in the expansion and design of said reports.
  • Support and monitor the continuation of the delivery of reports by your Executives
  • Understand the full range of digital performance metrics, their typical applications and limitations; use this knowledge to ensure reports are correctly configured to meet the needs of both internal and external clients
  • Provide basic day-to-day support to the digital division on data usage and report interpretation
  • Scope out projects and produce bespoke analyses for clients, outside of BAU reporting
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses for clients, based on briefs or from your own volition
  • Present work to clients as required
Analytics & Customer Intelligence:
  • Scope out projects and produce bespoke analyses for clients, outside of BAU reporting
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses for clients, based on briefs or from your own volition
  • Make use of available platforms and data to derive audience understanding to inform planning and media activation.
  • Grow the use of onsite analytics as a data source of performance reporting & insight

Team Management:

  • Whilst this role does not currently have any direct line management, there is a role for growing the expertise and data understanding of team members of the wider agency, in particular the client leadership, digital activation and planning teams. Helping develop the use of insight tools & platforms to drive performance understanding.

Innovation & Collaboration

  • Develop strong relationships with relevant analytics partners at an appropriate level, including other external agencies on our client’s businesses
  • Work closely with WM client servicing teams to ensure a strong relationship is developed for the open and easy communication of any reporting requirements
  • Take lead on projects and collaborate with your team to ensure the smooth delivery of new undertakings
  • Actively seek out new trends, industry new / updates and product launches and share with wider team
  • Work with your director to produce case studies or appropriate thought pieces
  • Have a good understanding of the entire WM Precision offering and to competently present internally about all departments.
