The Systems Tech Team


Systems Tech are MediaCom’s Data and Technology experts transforming MediaCom into the agency of the future. Technology is a key enabler for MediaCom, helping reduce costs and create new products that drive revenue and business growth. Systems Tech are a global team of technology consultants, project managers, business analysts, data engineers, software engineers and data visualisation experts delivering technology solutions with the business.

Systems Tech provide technology expertise and project management to create business applications and solutions for MediaCom.  The team’s responsibilities range from automating a small-scale data transformation process, to save time for our staff, to building large scale strategic platform and product implementations for media planning optimisation to creative analytics to ecommerce audit.


The Systems Tech team drive data platform innovation to create exceptional global, regional, and local market dashboards to enable our staff and our Clients to have the data needed to make the right decisions at the right time.


The team also work in partnership with GroupM and WPP, participating in and leading steering groups centred around the technology strategy to provide the MediaCom voice to steer the new Planning, Audience, Activation and Reporting platforms planned for 2021 and the future.



Objectives of the Role: 


Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability:


  • Provide thought leadership on data strategy and insights with end users and stakeholders to create detailed use cases and user requirements for data-centric products.
  • Establish clear expectations on the functionality and use of the data and the product from a Client and business perspective. Use this information to build requirements and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Elicit requirements and drive process change using staff meetings, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, team meetings, business analysis and workflow analysis
  • Assist with initial client scoping and onboarding for data reporting, helping guide and define client team process.
  • Work with Client teams and Systems Tech to define process best practice with regards to data, specifically determining naming conventions, KPI frameworks, business logic, performance optimisation, client team roles and responsibilities for the data product, measurement frameworks and defining the data needed for effective measurement for client reporting.
  • Working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and the broader Systems Tech team such as project management and development, to build data products based on these requirements.
  • Provide business analysis resource for projects across the broader Systems Tech programme of work
  • Improve awareness and knowledge of business analysis skills. Educate and evangelize business analysis best practices within the Systems Tech team.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience


  • Substantial and broad experience in delivery of Business Analysis projects at senior levels in the advertising, digital media or related fields. A depth of understanding of business analysis trends, team structure, composition and people development to achieve business needs 
  • Excellent understanding of data: A depth of experience working with media data and data focused media products. Broad understanding of 3rd party technologies in the media, advertising and data management space.
  • Broad and deep understanding of media: an awareness of business processes across an agency with a depth of understanding of media trafficking.
  • Business acumen and a commercial mindset: An ability to understand and advocate for the use cases and requirements that reflect business needs and ensure the products you work on provide the right business outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements
  • Global and matrix organisation experience. Proven working successfully across a complex matrix org structure. Experience working in cross functional teams with project managers, developers and stakeholders
  • Facilitator, with a depth of experience of enabling and championing business change. The capacity to influence and motivate others whilst leading change
  • Gravitas: Ability to instil confidence in business stakeholders from all levels and demonstrate the business value of technology. Proven experience managing all levels of business stakeholders
  • Creative thinker, with the ability to develop concrete requirements from unclear situations.
