Job Title:

  • Wavemaker Global Commercial Manager

Role context:

  • Working as part of a team of ten people based in London, the Global Commercial Manager will assist the Global Client Finance Directors with commercial management and control of international clients to help build profitable long-term international client relationships. This is a fantastic opportunity to someone looking to build on their commercial experience whilst still applying their relevant finance background.
  • This role must build strong relationships with our clients and global, regional, and local stakeholders in Wavemaker, across GroupM and other group agencies.

 

Key deliverables:

 

Client management:

 

  • Provide commercial support to Global Client Finance Directors, and Client Managing Partners on several international clients
  • Lead and support (re)negotiation of terms of business / contracts (existing and new services) to maximise profitability
  • Responsible for ensuring contracts are in place for selected clients
  • Work with Global Client Finance Directors and Trading teams to maximise incentive schemes, ensure trading opt-ins and agreement of these with clients
  • Ensure network (and intranet) is updated on client commercial and contractual terms
  • Assist in management of contract compliance audits with third party auditors
  • Review of bi-annual review of rebates and other media income summaries to ensure that sources of income obtained are compliant with contracts & policy
  • Help ensure client receivables are highlighted, addressed, and escalated where appropriate so any overdue balances are collected
  • Ad hoc special project work and implementation of best practice measures

 

 

 

 

New business:

 

  • Co-ordination / collection of information from local markets to construct remuneration proposal for significant regional / global client pitches
  • Support Global Client Finance Directors on negotiation of terms and follow through to completion (e.g. briefing local markets)

 

Experience / behaviour:

 

  • Qualified Accountant (preferred) with 3-5 years PQE
  • Financial and client commercial management in a media / advertising environment
  • Regional experience or experience working with different countries
  • Collaborative team player, relationship builder with a can-do attitude, lots of energy and drive required
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail:
  • Ability to process and, most of all, interpret financial data in support of commercial decisions
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Possess a natural attention to detail and ability to digest information from a wide variety of sources
  • Open-minded, able to develop and assess different options and solutions
  • Good all round IT skills for analysing and presenting information
  • Fluency in English is required.  Additional European languages desirable but not essential
