About the role

EssenceMediacom’s Global Investment team delivers work across an impressive global client base including The Coca Cola Company, Adidas, Mars, Google and Bayer to name a few. The exciting and dynamic list enables our Global Investment unit to drive Best in class value and KPI evolution to deliver our clients’ investment goals.

In this role, you will be working across one or more of the world’s largest advertisers. This allows for exposure to key methodologies and investment management programmes. Supported by GroupM, you will be involved in a fast-paced, dynamic environment across these truly global clientele to deliver their transformation goals.

You will be joining a team to support the stewarding and delivery of our clients’ global value commitments and reporting this analysis to your line manager and other senior members of the team. As part of the wider market-leading Global Investment unit, supported by GroupM, this position offers several opportunities for future career growth and development across client work and projects at EssenceMediacom.

The role will report into a Sr. Director and involves daily exposure to senior internal stakeholders, media auditors and procurement clients.

Specific responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for advising and mentoring local market investment leaders to ensure success delivering against key client accountability KPIs and maximising the agency’s Performance Related Fee. You will be responsible for sharing global strategy and best global practice on pricing and accountability and ensuring it is effectively implemented. You will be nurturing the relationship with our key clients with support from your team and with guidance from the Senior Investment Director.

 

  • In partnership with local investment heads and with senior guidance as and when appropriate you will be overseeing and quality controlling the design, development and implementation of the EssenceMediacom Global investment pricing strategy for one or more of our key clients. This will require evaluating local and global investment challenges, understanding needs and ensuring markets develop strategies accordingly.

 

  • As part of your responsibilities you will also work regularly and closely with account and commercial teams to ensure a smooth and connected workflow across deliverables for the clients you work on. This will also involve working with our legal team to oversee and establish appropriate contractual conditions with our clients

 

  • Ensuring that EssenceMediacom deliver competitive pricing and activation across markets may include managing/supporting the recommendation of new business pricing processes to be put in place if needed, at times in cooperation with GroupM, to prioritize pitches, explain and agree pricing approach and ensure there is a joined-up process that everyone owns

 

  • You will lead a team comprising of Associate Directors and other members of the team at jr. level, ensuring that they are consistently delivering at high standards across clients. You will also ensure that each team member has a clear career path in front of them and a roadmap of learning and development and support. You will ensure that junior members of the team learn about and share best practice in all things accountability and become experts in this field through a combination of guidance in day to day work and specific training programs

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience 

  • Proven in-depth media experience gained in either an investment/accountability department, media agency buying department or media auditor
  • Solid knowledge of how media buying, and performance tracking works and the various methodologies used to track and quantify value delivery, particularly for TV and Digital. Due to the increasingly digital profile of the accounts in scope, experience in online buying would be a particular asset
  • Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills and great attention to detail
  • Very confident communicator and presenter (written and delivery)

  • A very “hands-on” attitude and a high degree of resilience and patience is critical especially when working with a network of local operators on globally aligned businesses which can often present challenges in terms of collaboration
  • International experience preferable but not essential
