Digital PR Account Director

 

 

The Role:

The Digital PR Account Director will have extensive, proven, and detailed knowledge and experience in Digital PR and organic visibility strategies. You will constantly strive to deliver excellent client servicing, creative campaigns, and will be responsible for providing day-to-day leadership, management, and mentorship across the Digital PR team.

 

You will direct key accounts, responsible for creating strategies, maintaining high levels of performance, and positive relationships with the client. You will consistently demonstrate an advanced understanding of your clients’ needs and ability to deliver proactive solutions in response. You will also be expected to maintain up to date knowledge of the digital PR and search industry, as well as your clients’ sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Client

  • Direct 4-5 digital PR accounts, being the senior contact for clients and responsible for implementation of strategy
  • Handle challenging client queries and issues effectively
  • Lead on major deliverables (campaigns, strategies), continuously improving and refining your skills and ensuring a thorough, creative approach taken
  • Leverage understanding and interest in your client's business, industry, customers, and commercial objectives to not just increase quality of DPR output but be involved in other channel
  • Maintain strong, meaningful, and communicative relationships with planning team
  • Understand fully your client needs and deliver proactive solutions in response, confidently challenge the status quo where relevant
  • Champion and vouch for your client, always seeking to experiment and adopt breakthrough mindset
  • Independently draft all types of press assets, with only minor proofing required
  • Dictate the strategy for your clients to ensure KPIs are met and leading in meetings
  • Oversee and be responsible for all outputs across your client set, including campaign management, results, client comms and invoicing etc.
  • Proactively seek new opportunities to work with third parties to improve client strategy
  • Drive your client's broader organic strategies and performance forwards
  • Ensure high quality account management and planning processes across your accounts are maintained (e.g. WIPs, coverage tracking, roadmaps)

 

 

Team

  • Support recruitment within team, leading on process for junior team members
  • Manage 1-3 team junior team members with a mentoring mindset
  • Continuously upskill as a manager, attending training and seeking opportunities to grow in this role
  • Review work produced by team members, with accountability for quality control
  • Always provide detailed and ideally written feedback for team
  • Challenge junior team members to exceed results targets and deliver good work across your client portfolio
  • Ensure direct reports have clear objectives and regular performance reviews
  • Understand fully your team pressures and proactively create ways of working to combat these
  • Organise and facilitate regular training and workshops for team
  • Oversee allocation and reconciliation of team hours on your accounts, working to reduce overservicing
  • Delegate work within your team to ensure consistent and quality outputs, showing ability to manage both up and down, and to manage and resolve conflict
  • Support juniors outside of your immediate team, acting as a senior account lead for all organic functions and beyond

 

Innovation

  • Lead on the creation of new DPR & Content products and processes for department
  • Collaborate with teams across the agency to drive best-practice breakthroughs
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of developments and changes within digital PR and SEO, as well and media more broadly
  • Hold team to account in developing and increasing AI capabilities

 

Department

  • Support department / team lead on operations, for example allocation, resource planning, and team structures
  • Continuously increase personal and department profile within agency, establishing self as trusted expert who teams want to work with
  • Proactively identify opportunities for and secure cross-sells and up-sells
  • Contribute to new business through participation in RFP response documents and new business pitches where required
  • Strive to expand team's accolades, taking leading role on award entries, case studies, and sharing these across the agency
