This role reports to: Head, CTG Analytics

- Providing intelligence to senior management: eg. Your day job is to keep the senior mgt upto date on anything related to media, be it market development, audience trends, regulatory or anything else. Read up, analyse & inform – basically be the brains for senior mgt.

- No two days are the same at work: immense variety in nature of work requests with multiple learning opportunities, involving both market & GM data – tracking key business deliverables, analysing market developments (eg impact of Disney-Reliance merger, NTO), coming up with frameworks (digital IO inflation), tracking media publisher revenue, analysing viewership/audience trends, etc.
In this role, your goals will be:
In three months:
- Understand the org structure of and workflow between GroupM & its agencies, CTG & Analytics
- Understand your role in CTG Analytics, set KPIs in discussion with your manager
- Become familiar with various reports produced by CTG Analytics
In six months:
- Review & supervise the team’s tasks & deliverables; ensure 100% data accuracy & 100% adherence to timelines on critical deliverables (to be discussed w/manager)
- Train the team as required on the why, what & how of assigned tasks; ensure that vlookups /classification/mapping are maintained properly (i.e. are accurate and updated regularly)
- Understand how the different types of data maintained by Analytics finds application in company strategy; understand the inter-relations between data
In 12 months:
- Anticipate problems/issues on requests/tasks, think ahead about additional questions/data requests the recipient of the deliverable may have; accordingly build-in that info/solution upfront
- Stay abreast of industry trends: economy, regulation, media, tech, consumer (audience) trends, etc.
- Combine the above to create top quality work: i.e. work that has considered available data, covered all perspectives, triangulated different data points to ratify results (data interpretation/insights) and has attempted to answer as many questions as possible
What your day job looks like with Team CTG:
- Reviewing steps followed by the team in data cleaning, compiling & checking – help the team develop logic checks
- Working on benchmarks: applying the right logic to arrive at appropriate benchmarks, using market trends/intelligence/other data sources to inform the logic
- Inflation: review market & GM inflation data to assess YTD inflation
- Track key buying metrics, develop new reports/dashboards
- Work on short reads/whitepapers that clearly outline the impact of developments in tech/regulatory/consumer behaviour on media, and therefore GroupM

- Comfortable leading a team who may be from very different backgrounds
Minimum qualifications:
- Graduate degree
- 10 years + of full-time media planning work experience dominated by TV but with good understanding of Print, Radio & Digital
- Strong numerical skills
- Proficiency in Excel & Powerpoint: should be comfortable using formulae
- Proficiency in use of media applications (BMW/YUMI, Radio Audience Measurement)
