ABOUT THE ROLE
We are searching for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our OpenDoor team as a Group Performance Director. This is a Full-time position based in Sydney. This role plays a crucial part in supporting WPP's mission to deliver consistency, delivery excellence and best in class service for Amazon in every country across its diverse businesses, including XCM, Prime Video, and RMI.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The role of Group Performance Director is to lead, with overall responsibility for the direction, workflow and quality of implementation planning and buying for the performance and wider Open Door team.
  • Hold regular performance evaluation meetings with direct reports throughout the year, setting smart goals and creating a clear career development plan with them.
  • Reviewing your team’s training needs to make sure their career plans are aligned to their progression. Responsible for training and development of all members of the team.
  • Build strong and enduring relationships with Amazon Marketing team at a senior level.
  • Provide innovative strategic insights by acting as an expert on Amazon’s business, industry and competitors.
  • Accountable for the development and execution of data-driven marketing campaigns across multiple Amazon businesses. Including but not limited constructing and presenting robust implementation plans grounded in Amazon’s strategic priorities.
  • Develop future fit, market leading performance strategies for Amazon to fuel the growth of their business.
  • Seek our reformist ways to keep clients informed on relevant developments and changes to media landscape and media partners informed on client priorities and partnership opportunities.
  • Deliver a well-informed POV in every meeting, providing innovative strategic insights and delivering craft expertise.
  • Utilize WPP Open and other cutting-edge tools to demonstrate confident knowledge of media planning principles (e.g. scheduling, flighting, recency, effective reach theories, seasonality, market prioritisation, roles of channel).
  • Accountable for seamless campaign delivery across the Performance function to achieve outstanding results.
  • Engage with our media partners to build understanding of the media landscape across the Performance discipline and challenge the status quo offered by platforms, thinking critically about their solutions and getting the best outcomes for Amazon.
  • Accountable for ensuring all financial and compliance processes are followed with 100% accuracy, including bookings and loadings.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, particularly in the areas of Social, Programmatic and e-Commerce.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 9-15 years' experience in the Marketing and Media industry.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.
  • Collaborative and astute – able to build trust and respect within a network.
  • First class negotiation skills.
  • Passion for innovation and a desire to challenge industry norms.
  • Proven capability to deliver business results for clients, with the ability to identify and clearly articulate what’s working and why.
  • Proven capability leading teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
BONUS POINTS
  • Passion for the Media industry, in particularly across Social, Programmatic, e-Commerce, Data & Technology.
  • Developed a market leading profile via strong relationships internally and externally (e.g. MFA contribution, IAB involvement, Mentor programs)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Retail and or Entertainment category experience.
