Position at Mindshare

The Associate is our first level position providing support to the Planning team while learning through established training programs and on-the-job training especially in digital media channels. The Associate is also responsible for expanding his/her knowledge in preparation for promotion and they should become increasingly familiar with all aspects of Planning!

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assist in developing the Activation Plan and Consumer Journey experience
  • Develop your understanding of media planning concepts and process
  • Develop familiarity with appropriate media channels (digital, OOH etc) and with general Mindshare approaches
  • Assist in the writing of case study development post each program and for non-client campaigns
  • Research market trends in emerging media and content development
  • Work with various departments (e.g. Trading) to obtain buy in and appropriate resources to help develop the proposed recommendation
  • Assist in the preparing and presenting planning documents and POVs
  • Participate in case study development post each program and for non-client campaigns
  • Develop thorough knowledge of syndicated tools and systems as well as Mindshare Canada tools and approaches
  • Develop industry experience and knowledge and actively attend all training and industry presentations
  • Ongoing investigation of new media and technology
  • Develop presentation and report writing skills
  • Ensure team communications are delivered in a timely manner to all participating members
  • Contribute to the billing process/financial hygiene
  • Work with our partners to ensure that the idea is strategically relevant and commercially viable
  • Participate in ideation sessions (that are not necessarily on their specific client base)
  • Project manage – establish a work plan for each deliverable and direct and define for the team key task assignments and partner and client liaison
  • Help manage day to day and on-going projects and various specific account based needs
  • Develop your poise and confidence to represent Mindshare Canada and meetings

 Required Skills, Knowledge & Attributes:

  • Appropriate experience and backgrounds (work/academic)
  • Good understanding of basic media planning concepts and process
  • Detail-oriented
  • Well organized
  • Solid time management skills and the ability to multi-task, manage concurrent projects and work successfully under pressure
  • Able to understand and take direction
  • Sound communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Able to interact with all levels of staff
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Resourceful and self-motivated
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Enthusiastic and excited about new communications landscape
  • Digitally aware and savvy
