Overview of job
Wavemaker is an agency of GroupM, the leading global media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of Director of Investmens to join us.

In this role, you will be the key leader in the investment/ TP team with strong communication skills, quality control skills and result oriented characters. As a gatekeeper, help team leader to make more efficiency and effectiveness. And being a multiple media expert, especially a digital pioneer, you could help client/company to identify, distinguish, create suitable unique business opportunities.

This role reports to the General Manager, Investment

Overview of role

  1. Title: Director Investment - Mainland China
  2. Location: Shanghai (PRC)
  3. Part of – Investment/ Tactical planning team
  4. Candidate will be reporting manager for two resources, Manager and supervisor (Already on board)
  5. Teams to work with- SP, GMT (GroupM trading), TP & Commercial team.


Scope overview:

In this role, the candidate will be part of the team responsible for the following in Mainland China

  1. Inventory sales/ Trading:
    1. Inventory sales, Product creation, buying loss mitigation
    2. Way of working with GroupM and other agencies
    3. Liaison with other offices for sales opportunities
  2. Price pitch:
    1. Local & Regional level pitch – Trading only
  3. Client Price landing:
    1. Trading story for WM
    2. Post pitch/ Client KPI/ Bonus malus
  4. Client audits:
    1. Audits- Media Performance audits
  5. Others:
    1. Contractual obligation- Risk assessment and mitigation for clients
    2. Trading Benchmarking

Measures of success –

In three months:

  • Get familiar the Wavemaker business needs from a trading perspective
  • Go well with all parties to ensure successful transition into the role
  • Start delivering Investment KPI

In six months:

  • Keep delivering Investment KPI
  • Team development plan and implementation

In 12 months:

  • Deliver 100% KPIs for the current year

 

Responsibilities of the role:

Help team leader to supervise our campaign delivery and coordinate all parties including media vendor, client, strategic planning, negotiation team to ensure our pitch commitment delivery with profit

 

What you will need:

  • 10+ years digital media experience
  • Problem solving skills, team player, client servicing skills
  • Familiar with Excel, PPT, word
  • Good communications skills with solutions
  • Good data consolidation skills
