We are currently looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Regional Internal Audit Controller to oversee and drive internal audit remediation efforts across our APAC markets. This role will be instrumental in working closely with opcos, regional and global stakeholders, and internal audit teams to resolve internal audit findings, ensuring compliance with internal policies, local regulations, and best practices. 
 
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in internal auditing and the development and execution of remediation strategies for internal audit findings

In this role, your key responsibilities and goals will be:
In three months,
  • Familiarize with WPP Internal audit (IA) and global Investment audit processes
  • Review the current IA and Investment audit reports across APAC markets to understand common findings, risk areas, and existing remediation efforts
  • Meet with internal audit, global investment audit team, opco, regional and global stakeholders across WPP and groupm to understand their expectations for audit remediation
  • Assess the current status of ongoing remediation activities and action plans
  • Identify immediate areas of concern and prioritize findings that require swift action
  • Collaborate with opco cross-functional to outline remediation steps and timelines
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for IA and Investment audit, including attending opening and closing meetings 
  • Start to drive the implementation of remediation and monitor the progress across APAC markets 
 
In six months,
  • Actively driving and lead the implementation of remediation plans across APAC markets 
  • Continue to monitor and track remediation progress, ensuring that action plans are being executed according to timelines 
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on remediation activities, action plans, and progress 
  • Hold follow-up meetings with key stakeholders to address challenges and provide guidance on remediation efforts  
  • Foster strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, finance/ commercial, legal, compliance, Investment, IT, HR, operations etc to ensure alignment on audit remediation priorities 
 
In 12 months,
  • Identify patterns or recurring audit issues and propose preventive action to minimize recurrence of audit issues 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver the training programs to educate opcos on audit findings and proper remediation processes 
  • Ensure continuous monitoring and evaluation of remediation activities across markets to ensure sustainability
  • Establish a Regional Expertise Council, leveraging the specialized knowledge and skills of its members to address key issues within the region
 
Job requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in internal auditing, risk management, or compliance, with a focus on remediation and follow-up.
  • Experience working in a multinational company, ideally with exposure to diverse markets across APAC
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
