MediaCom is looking for a Planning Group Head based out of its Bangalore branch for a technology leader client. You will be the leading the media mandates for one of our key clients for MediaCom Bangalore. Your understanding of Digital is a must as you’ll be leading an integrated team.

 
Overview of job:

A planning leader with experience in media / marketing strategy, planning, execution, MBA, Bangalore. 

Expert in delivering strategic, data-driven solutions and at the same time be operationally proficient. You will support the team to develop and sell integrated communications strategy based on brand understanding, consumer insights and market/ media dynamics.

Would be responsible to drive media approach, planning & execution to drive client objectives with thought through, attention to detail approach. Knowledge of B2C is a must. Knowledge of B2B is a plus.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Client Leader for this account.

Measures of success –

In three months:

  • You would have complete knowledge of relevant consumer electronic / e-commerce categories
  • You would have been able to understand the client working style and deliver on their day to day requirements and start building relationships with the key decision makers within the current pipeline
  • Campaign delivery: Effective and accurate optimization and delivery of performance, utilizing all relevant internal teams (i.e. campaign operations), agency processes and tech.
  • Ability to lead media planning discussions with clients.

In six months:

  • Demonstrate good understanding of clients’ business and challenges and ability to apply the knowledge in the formulation of campaign strategy and recommendation.
  • Build a good relationship with clients, internal and external stakeholders and partners.
  • Be able to plan, implement and set up digital performance campaigns on his own
  • Understanding media beyond digital and collaborating with the larger team to deliver on IBE (Integrated Brand Experiences) solutions.
  • Proactively drive the planning initiatives & response to the client requirements & briefs.
  • Have full understanding of what is happening on client’s business & work accordingly
  • Ability to start leading long term & short-term media planning for the client

 

In 12 months:

 

  • Established strong team and Client relationship and receive great feedback from co-workers and key client contacts
  • Been the source of what’s new and emerging in media & technology to deliver new and innovative Client solutions
  • Challenge briefs and constantly evolve our strategies to ensure we hit client KPIs and constantly take campaigns to the next level
  • Planning & Strategy: Ensure holistic thinking is carried across channel planning and outcomes that can be clearly measured.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Media Planning and Implementation:Make & present annual, quarterly media plans for different client business units in a global work environment. Lead and drive thought & execution of various media marketing plans. 
  • Calendar Planning: Define & own the media calendars and promotional plans to meet organizational objective. Work on the 30-60-90 days & long term plans.
  • Full funnel & Data Driven Marketing: Define full funnel & data driven marketing approach & plans for the business & activate necessary media for business growth. Analyse the customer & media patterns for higher returns. Set goals, interpret metrics, and implement projects that will improve business performance, visibility, and revenue.
  • Media Buying, Implementation, Reporting – Media buying, implementation, optimization & reporting for respective Bus. Knowledge of B2B is a must. Knowledge of B2C is a plus.
  • Business & Category Monitoring: Constantly keep track of prospects and bringing media insights by analysing competition marketing, category trends & other macro & micro aspects.
  • Sponsorships and Partnerships: Identify, evaluate, and make recommendations for client’s participation in sponsorships & other brand partnerships as relevant.
  • Creating and presenting of strategy and implementation ideas to clients, across digital platforms
  • Possess competence in planning all digital channels and have existing relationship with digital media owners/tech partners/publishers.
  • Media planning recommendations to deliver upon a desired business outcome
  • Timely preparation and sharing of campaign reports
  • Ensure projects/campaigns are tracked and measured based on agreed KPIs
  • Collating intel on new industry innovations to ensure we’re bringing latest digital, data and technology innovation solutions to clients.
  • Work with key media partners for planning and integrations
  • Collaborate with different internal teams such as account management, media, search, social, mobile, creative, operation & finance
  • Manage / oversee all commercial process pertaining to media activity such as estimate, PO, RO, Billing Instructions, Invoicing etc.

What you will need:

  • MBA, at least 7 years in a media buying / planning / execution / account planning - roles & ready to think & create. B2C is a must. Knowledge of B2B is a plus.
  • Comfortable making & presenting annual, quarterly media strategy & plans in a global work environment.
  • With an experience of various responsibilities within the media ecosystem, Should know digital marketing (thorough, Hands-on experience at some point in career). Knowledge of offline marketing would be a plus.   
  • Go getter attitude, data analytics, communication skills, good logical reasoning, attention to detail, integrity, empathy, aptitude & dare for innovation.
  • Someone with an experience of media strategy & planning for B2B / B2C with premium FMCD / technology / e-com companies.
  • Strong digital background with technical skills across digital media essential.
  • Working knowledge of Digital Tools COMSCORE, Similarweb, Google trends, etc
  • Good relationships with digital media owners/tech partners/publishers
  • Working knowledge of advertising technology platforms including and not limited to ad servers, DSPs, DV360, FB Planner and Adwords
  • Experience / understanding of AdTech platforms, guiding the team in implementing tech like Google Campaign Manager, Custom pixels, etc.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Competency in media planning and buying across all digital platforms.
