Mediacom | Group Head – Client Commercial

 Overview of Job

Mediacom is seeking a Group Head - Commercial with 5 to 7 years of work experience who would be responsible for the P&L of one of the key client, instrumental in identifying new content, sports & live & movie marketing streams, building new partnerships and looking at consumer focused content & film marketing solutions for brands across mediums. You should have ideally worked in a production house/television channel/digital agency/multi-channel network.

This role reports to: Commercial Lead

In this role, your goals will be:

In three months: 

  • Developed your understanding of MediaCom business in the local market.
  • Understood reporting requirements, WPP accounting policies, commercial requirements and client contracts.
  • Learnt the various systems and applications and how they are integrated into the business.
  • Built relationships with the key stakeholders across the group & client.

In six months:

  • Able to provide effective insight in financial forecasts
  • Contribute to the management of contract commitments and track deliverables.
  • Able to advice Business leads on key commercial and financial levers to achieve their targets

In 12 months:

  • Should be widely trusted and seen as a truthful individual
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of client’s business

What your day job looks like at MediaCom: 

  • Support client lead on client finance & operations related issues.
  • Ensure that client contractual requirements are being adhered to at all times
  • Working with local client to ensure that the required billing processes are understood and followed.
  • Generally help manage client relationships from a finance and process perspective.
  • Dealing with client audits as required
  • Prepare client MIS on periodic basis as required
  • Prepare and report yearly budget, quarterly re-forecasts for the client business.
  • Support commercial lead in discussions and negotiation of commercial and contractual terms and conditions with clients.
  • Manage Global/Regional client terms, conditions and instructions.
  • Monitor collections and take proactive actions for recovery of long outstanding amounts.
  • Monitor achievement of client incentives and bonuses.
  • Update periodically the charge out rates and overhead multipliers to be applied.
  • Prepare and provide commercial information as required by the business teams.
  • Keep track of billing and highlight shortfalls for remediating actions.
  • Ensure continuing client contractual compliance.

Minimum qualifications:

  • CA with 5-7 years of experience in commercial finance, client facing commercial role.
  • Should have worked in global organization in past.
  • Prior experience within media industry / agency will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking skills.
  • Independent, well-organized, results-oriented and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask under high pressure.
  • Willing to “roll up your sleeves” and deep-dive into details
  • Must be able to work with integrity, initiative and a strong sense to take accountability / ownership and commitment to deliver.
  • Pleasant personality with strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in matrix environment and dealing with multiple internal & stakeholders.
