Overview of job

GroupM is the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for the HR Director/Lead, Vietnam to join us in leading a transformational journey across the group.

You will be a trusted advisor and business ‘barometer’ for the country leadership relating to all Talent issues across the business. You will develop close working relationships with the management team to ensure the best support and advice is offered on all issues relating to people management, and you will support and listen to individuals to understand their growth needs and engagement in the business.

In three months, you will be:

  • Building open, frank and positive relationships with colleagues throughout GroupM
  • Working to get the best from every member of the team
  • Demonstrating good HR Business Partnering skills even when under considerable pressure
  • Building a solid understanding of the GroupM transformational talent requirements as well as its systems, initiatives and policies
  • Giving clear, considered and concise advice on HR issues and demonstrating strong stakeholder management skills across all levels of seniority

In six months you will be:

  • Building trusted relationships with the agencies, having built credibility as a reliable, responsive, trusted advisor
  • Spearheading a performance culture, leadership effectiveness, talent acquisition and learning & development as well as rewards & recognition, engaging talent across the group embracing Inclusion and diversity as a winning culture.
  • Thoroughly understanding the structure, roles and responsibilities within GroupM and where they should sit
  • Translating business strategies and objectives into organisation capability and talent requirements

Responsibilities of the role

  • Engage and proactively partner with managers and leadership team in understanding their business needs and provide strategic advice and initiatives to achieve the business goals
  • Work with agency and communication stakeholders to develop employer brand externally as well as internally
  • Oversee the Performance Review process and continually improve the standards of performance reviews
  • Drive compensation and benefit programs aligned to people strategy
  • Identify and support learning and talent development needs to enable and support the talent strategy
  • Ensure HR policies are in line with local legislation and global and regional WPP/GroupM policies
  • Support WPP & GroupM Audit & Compliance activities as necessary
  • Provide leadership and project management to critical HR initiatives across the organization as needed.
  • Be the change agent and drive the HR and business transformation journey

What you will need

  • 10+ years of relevant HR experience with strong focus on HR leadership/ business partnering
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation,
  • Project management skills in driving organisational change, along with a growth mindset
  • Coaching, mentoring, counselling skills
  • Understand the business, the business challenges and be solutions focused
  • Ability to thrive in matrix, high paced environment where priorities are constantly shifting
  • Ability to build pride across the group being the biggest and most agile network agency group
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and compliances in Vietnam.
