The Programmatic Buying Unit is part of the programmatic services of GroupM, the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a Programmatic Trader  to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of campaign implementation, monitoring and reporting, working very closely with all other teams within the GroupM agencies (Wavemaker, Mediacom and Mindshare) to produce best-in-class solutions, offer unparalleled service and deliver against targets. You will be highly analytical, have an acute attention to detail and you are excited to work with market leading technologies.  Most importantly, you will be passionate about and driven to deepen your knowledge of all things programmatic media buying. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, enthusiastic and is flexible with embracing changes and new challenges.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Associate Director, GroupM Programmatic Buying Unit.

In this role, your goals will be:

In three months:

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of GroupM’s programmatic media proposition.
  • Being fully trained across the campaign workflow, processes and operations in your specialist team.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operations and take ownership of campaign set ups, monitoring and optimisation.

In six months:

  • Show independence and competence in the day to day role.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal teams and partners.
  • Provide insight-based optimisation suggestions by analysing campaign data.
  • Define opportunities for increased efficiency and continually improving workflows.

In 12 months:

  • Be responsible and confidently manage campaigns of all KPIs from start to completion.
  • Test and share different optimisation tactics and knowledge with the wider team
  • Have a clear understanding of clients’ objectives and have implemented account optimisations that have made a measurable impact to campaign performance.

What your day job looks like at GroupM:

  • Work closely with the team to manage accounts across a portfolio of clients, supporting across day-to-day campaign management responsibilities.
  • Undertake the campaign set up process for all campaigns within your portfolio, troubleshoot any tracking and discrepancy queries, and ensure campaigns are activated with accuracy and following best practice. 
  • Ensure the latest optimisation techniques, platform tools and products are utilised across your portfolio of accounts. 
  • Analyse ongoing results to identify campaign trends and key insights, and provide thoughtful recommendations to ensure we meet and exceed client goals.
  • Produce performance reports and presentations across your campaign portfolio as required by the service level agreements.
  • Look for new media partner opportunities, as well as identifying opportunities with our current media partners to enable the best outcomes for our clients.

Minimum qualifications:

  • 1-2 years professional experience with digital media preferably within a media agency/publisher trading desk.
  • Hands on experience and knowledge in programmatic optimisation.
  • Knowledge along with a passion for digital.
  • Result-oriented with strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and under supervision once objectives have been set.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
  • Experience in campaign implementation, optimisation and reporting.
  • Understanding of Adserver, DSPs/SSPs, RTB, ad exchanges, DMPs, audience targeting, brand safety, viewability, adfraud will be a bonus
  • Good command in written and spoken English and Cantonese is a must.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office.
  • More experienced candidates will be considered as Senior Programmatic Specialist.
