About GroupM Clients team:  
GroupM Clients team is a business unit within GroupM Malaysia that services our local Growth led clients which are performance oriented, need agile team and require fast turnaround operations. The team consists of media specialists that perform a hybrid role cutting across the entire campaign lifecycle, namely end-to-end client engagement, strategic planning and campaign management.
About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated Associate/Senior Associate to join the GroupM Clients Team based out of Malaysia. As an Associate in this team, you should come with about 1-2 years of total work experience in the media industry OR As a Senior Associate in this team, you must have at least 2 years of experience in the relevant field in media industry.
 
You will be reporting into Manager, Clients in this role.
 
As the primary point of contact for your clients, you will manage their advertising needs end to end across all channels. This includes developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their business goals, and translating these into effective advertising strategies. You will be required to oversee the entire campaign lifecycle, from initial strategy and planning to setup, execution, and ongoing optimization. Your role is crucial in ensuring that campaigns are delivered on time, within budget, and meet or exceed client expectations. Through meticulous planning and continuous performance analysis, you will drive successful outcomes and deliver exceptional value to our clients.
 
Key Responsibilities:  
  • Client Relationship & Servicing:  
  • Client Champion: Communicate with clients, providing regular updates on campaign performance, industry trends, and new opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Trusted Advisor: Maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients based on trust, transparency, and timely communication. Provide recommendations to help clients achieve their business goals.
  • Strategic Insight: Develop an understanding of client businesses, target audiences, competitive landscapes, and industry trends.
  • Account Management:  
  • Goal-Oriented Planning: Collaborate with clients to define clear and measurable campaign objectives, aligning advertising strategies with overall business goals.
  • Cross-Channel Expertise: Develop comprehensive advertising strategies and media plans across all relevant channels with the guidance of platform experts within your team.
  • Campaign Management: Use GroupM workflow management tool to capture and guide campaign requirements and allocate resources effectively across different channels for effective campaign delivery.
  • Implementation & Operations:  
  • Seamless Execution: Implementation of advertising campaigns across all channels, ensuring timely launch and accurate setup. Continuous improvement through learnings, new technologies/tools and media know-how.  
  • Budget Control: Manage campaign budgets and track spending meticulously to ensure optimal ROI.
  • Team Collaboration: Leverage internal teams (e.g., creative, analytics) to ensure seamless campaign execution and alignment with client expectations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and optimize campaign performance closely, using GroupM and/or other relevant tools to track key metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Billing and Reconciliation: Ensure client spends are reconciled post campaign and supporting documents are maintained. Liaising with Finance to ensure client billing and vendor invoicing are up to date.  
  • Optimization & Reporting:  
  • Data-Driven Optimization: Regularly analyse data to uncover insights, adjust strategies, and implement changes that enhance campaign performance. Liaison with champions within your team to progressively improve the performance of your client campaigns.
  • A/B Testing: Conduct A/B testing to identify the most effective campaign elements and optimize for conversions, engagement, and other key performance indicators.
  • Insightful Reporting: Generate reports from GroupM proprietary dashboard that clearly communicate campaign performance, insights, and recommendations to clients in a digestible and actionable format.
  • Strategic Analysis: Analyse campaign data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, providing strategic recommendations to clients for future campaigns.

  • Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a meticulous data-driven approach to campaign planning, management and optimization.
  • Some understanding and hands-on experience across several advertising channels (biddable and non-biddable media) would be ideal.
  • Prior experience in using analytics tools, e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Evogenious (TV), Clear Decisions, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerBI is a good to have.
