Overview of job

GroupM is the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for an Executive, Insights to join us. In this role, you will be responsible to provide support to the Insights/Knowledge team across GroupM by assisting in the preparation and implementation of various insights/knowledge activities and projects.

In this role, your goals will be:
In three months:

  • Understand all media tools and concepts used within GroupM
  • Understand basic consumer and media research landscape

In six months:

  • Played one of the key role to coordinate and analyse on specific assignments
  • Able to utilise all research resources in providing insights and data to clients/agencies

In 12 months:

  • Co-lead the assignments independently
  • Able to provide sound analysis with minimal guidance from supervisors


What your day job looks like at GroupM:

  • Responsible for day-to-day management of GroupM’s propriety technology, data vendors and marketing insights subscriptions.
  • Provide support to senior team members in all areas of analytics and reportings
  • Responsible for regular reports and analytics including data management, manipulation, QA and reporting structure to ensure reports are delivered on time according to requirements
  • Analyse media, advertising, audience, market and industry category data to provide actionable insights
  • Assist stakeholders in the areas of data interpretation and implementation via syndicated and proprietary software
  • Project coordination – able to work closely with different stakeholders from all agencies, clients, and appointed data partners.
  • Managing timelines for regular reportings in timely deliveries with minimum supervision
  • For any analytics-related tasks, hone and master data management and data analysis; demonstrate a good degree of numeracy and excel literacy
  • For any insights-related tasks, learn and use various Insights/Knowledge tools and solutions (experience in research tools such as Nielsen syndicated softwares, GWI, Euromonitor etc is an added advantage), as well as be able to gather and interpret output and provide meaningful analysis
  • For any research-related projects, assist in the preparation and development of discussion guides/questionnaires, monitoring fieldwork, analysing the results and research write-ups, etc.


What you’ll bring:

  • A basic knowledge of marketing, media and communications
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiar with statistical analysis and good understanding of numbers with attention to detail; demonstrating a high degree of accuracy at all times, even when under pressure
  • Good numerical, writing and verbal communication skills
  • Passion about conducting insightful data analysis
  • Possess a dynamic personality, someone who has a willing attitude to learn, a team player, a fun and creative thinker who loves coming up with ideas
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Can manage numerous assignments concurrently, meeting tight deadlines and consistently deliver high quality work.
  • Experience with Power BI and Tableau is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge in programming language and statistical modelling would be an advantage.


Minimum qualifications:

  • A degree holder with 2-3 years of working experiences in the following field is preferred – consumer research or any related research background; strategic communication planning or strategic media planning.
