Job Description – Associate Commercial Director

Reporting of the role

This role reports to: Principal Partner – Commercial and Finance

In this role, your goals will be:

In three months: 

  • Developed your understanding of Mindshare’s business in the local market.
  • Understand P&L structures, reporting requirements, WPP accounting policies, commercial requirements, and client contracts.
  • Learnt the various systems and applications and how they are integrated into the business.
  • Built relationships with the key stakeholders across agency the group.
  • Client specific reports requirement.

In six months:

  • Able to provide effective insight in financial forecasts, monthly results
  • Contribute to the management of contract commitments and negotiations.
  • Able to advice Business leads on key commercial and financial levers to achieve their targets
  • Understood Mindshare clientele with due regard to financial risks.

In 12 months:

  • Should be widely trusted and seen as a truthful individual
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of client’s business and complete understanding of risk associated with revenue and business and alert in possible risks

What your day job looks like at Mindshare: 

  • Prepare and report yearly budget, quarterly re-forecasts, month end financial reports and other reports and details with client wise vertical wise to be in sync with the Business heads .
  • Prepare & submit monthly global financial reporting
  • Participate in discussions and negotiation of commercial and contractual terms and conditions with clients.
  • Manage Global/Regional client terms, conditions and instructions.
  • Monitor collections and take proactive actions for recovery of long outstanding amounts.
  • Monitor achievement of client incentives and bonuses.
  • Update periodically the charge out rates and overhead multipliers to be applied.
  • Prepare and provide commercial information as required by the business teams.
  • Review of monthly financial schedules & reports as prepared by finance plus.
  • Review of compliances & implementation of MAPs under internal audit reports.
  • Keep track of billing and highlight shortfalls for remediating actions.
  • Maintain new business pipelines and gaps.
  • Management of database of client’s information including key terms and conditions.
  • Ensure continuing contractual compliance.
  • Highlight and manage the renewal of expiring contracts.
  • Maintain HC and Staff costs budgets and forecasts visa vie actual at cluster level

Minimum qualifications:

  • CA with at least 8-10 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, MIS
  • Should have worked on global reporting in the past.
  • Experience of working in commercial domain shall be an additional advantage.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking skills.
  • Independent, well-organized, results-oriented and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work multitasking under high pressure.
  • Willing to “roll up your sleeves” and deep-dive into details
  • Must be able to work with integrity, initiative and a strong sense to take accountability / ownership and commitment to deliver.
  • Effective written, verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Pleasant personality with strong communication skills. Must be comfortable working in matrix environment and dealing with multiple stakeholders.
