We are currently looking for an IT Manager - Activation & Engagement to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for providing the core IT services that enable our business and help agencies leverage GroupM’s resources for the benefit of clients. Your role will be responsible for planning, leading and developing the technology function for Pakistan, ensuring it integrates with the WPP and Global GroupM Technology strategy, architecture and compliance.

In this role, your goals will be:

In three months:
 

  • Have taken over all on-going technology activities and projects from the incumbent
  • Be the go to person for all applications and service projects and service requests

In six months: 

  • Have established a roadmap of work for Pakistan.
  • Be proactively managing applications and service projects and service delivery

In 12 months: 

  • Have improved the quality of the projects and service delivery and have cleared the backlog of applications adoption projects
  • We can’t live without you

What your day job looks like at GroupM: 

  • You'll liaise with the Media Archetype’s teams, the agencies, the WPP IT portfolio lead and the Strategic Business Partner of Southeast Asia to manage the engagement and delivery of the wider WPP IT portfolio projects and programs within the local market.
  • You'll act as a point of escalation for the local businesses supporting the IT projects delivery and re-routing any service or product challenge via the Media Archetype's Ops Assurance or Product teams
  • You will maintain a lens on the value and commercial impact of both proposals and the reality of WPP IT activity and plans as it relates to the market. 
  • You will work with stakeholders across the market and WPP IT strategic programs, to proactively ensure delivery and to secure the engagement required to realize the value of the Media Archetype portfolio within the market.
  • You'll have outstanding people skills, be a clear communicator and know when the right approach is to be pragmatic.
  • You'll be passionate about delivering for our staff and customers, taking a considered approach around when to agree tactical technology fixes.
  • Where needed, you'll support the development of local products, with an eye to them scaling for greater benefit around GroupM.
  • Assist the Strategic Business Partner of Southeast Asia to capture and shape business demand for new or changed products and services in the local market – ensuring their needs are considered and proposals are shaped, sized, aligned and prioritized.
  • Act as a point of escalation and un-blocker for local business context – supporting IT project delivery, technical decisions, etc. – but re-routing any service or support challenges via the GroupM Operations Assurance function / Service Management Lead.
  • Work with local stakeholders and WPP IT strategic programs, to proactively ensure delivery – and to secure the engagement required to realize the value of the GroupM portfolio.
  • Assist the Strategic Business Partner of Southeast Asia to develop and maintain a view of local stakeholder alignment; delivery challenges; local Agency business risks and strategies, and in-flight initiatives – able to engage readily in ongoing planning and roadmap discussions with the GroupM Portfolio Lead, Architecture and strategic programs. 

What you’ll bring:
 

  • Significant stakeholder relationship management and planning capability
  • Significant knowledge of change management and business adoption of digital solutions
  • Developing data-driven insights, analysis and strategic advice
  • Developing project plans, budgeting and investment cases, and value realization activity
  • Significant media and advertising business knowledge and experience
  • Project management experience
  • Experience of developing business or functional project plans and market roadmaps
  • A tertiary degree in Computing or a similar discipline
  • Fluent English oral and written communication skills

Minimum qualification: 

  • 7+ experience in the relevant field
  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Information Technology from a reputable educational institute.
