DATA ENGINEER MANAGER

This role based out of the hub in India , forms part of a globally distributed analytics team , whose objective is to ensure that one of our most important global accounts have access to the right data and insights in order to inform their marketing decisions.   

This role will be focused on audit and quality assurance across several retailer media networks, including but not limited to Amazon, CitrusAd, Criteo, The Trade Desk, Walmart, etc. The role will require an understanding of each of the platform’s ad structure.

Seeking an experienced Data engineer Manager with a strong background in cloud platform technology and automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding the current quality assurance processes and building automated solutions ensuring the highest standards of quality in our data-driven marketing solutions and implementing strategies that enhance product quality and efficiency.

Measures of success

In three months, you would have:  

  • Understood the Data unit of the Data Science & Modelling’s existing tools and data processes and how we work with the wider agency. 

In six months, you would have: 

  • Started to build your own contacts network, delivered on 1-2 key projects, and be considering improvements that can be made to our data processes.

In 12 months, you would have: 

Worked closely with internal clients to deliver longer term data development projects that drive overall project delivery efficiency

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop underlying data infrastructure using cloud-based automated solutions to ensure collection and transformation of disparate marketing data
  • Implement adequate QA processes and standards
  • Design, run, maintain the automated test scripts using Python and other automation tools.
  • Perform data validation between Datorama, platform data & Tableau report
  • Enhance the solution to incorporate new data sources, and to derive new insights, to support ever-evolving business demands.
  • Monitor and report on key quality metrics and KPIs.
  • Support the translation of user requirements and business needs into technical specifications
  • Develop and maintain process documentations.
  • Become a proficient user of Google Cloud Platform and associated technologies, ensuring your work incorporates industry best practice

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with data and technology with GCP or AWS
  • Experience building underlying data pipelines and ETL, particularly useful if done using Google Cloud Platform, Airflow, DBT etc.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and Python for test automation and data analysis.
  • Experience with digital marketing platforms and the data they generate, in particular Google Marketing Platform, Facebook, Twitter etc. Knowledge of their API’s a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach towards enhancing efficiency by identifying and optimizing repetitive tasks.
  • Utilize a systems approach in problem-solving, bringing a holistic perspective to ensure comprehensive and effective solutions.
  • Possess strong attention to detail to ensure thorough examination of data.
  • Experience of work in media/marketing industry would be plus
