Overview of job 
The GroupM Nexus team adopt a collaborative and customer-centric approach in delivering high value and innovative solutions for our Agencies’ and Agencies’ clients, including the activation and execution of dynamic media campaigns. We are currently looking for a Research Manager – Data & Tech to join us.

About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for the management and implementation of research studies as well as governing research vendors, our tools and services. You will be part of our GroupM Nexus Data & Tech team, as well as working closely with GroupM agencies (MediaCom, Mindshare and Wavemaker)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary resource for clients’ audience insights and research needs, preparing data output and providing guidance on data running/ usage to users.
  • Pro-actively analyse and share industry and consumer insights using primary data and secondary data sources such as social listening and media planning tools.
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables, including ratings/ media spend reports, internal newsletter, and research findings.
  • Contribute to all stages of market research projects from proposal, research and questionnaire design up to analysis and reporting.

 

 

In this role, your goals will be:

In three months:

  • Be familiar with using the media and insight tools and resources available to GroupM and agencies
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables, including ratings/ media spend reports
  • Support the implementation of internal and external research projects, liaising with partners

In six months:

  • Answer users’ data queries, prepare data output and provide guidance on data running/ usage to users with little supervision
  • Pro-actively analyse and share industry and consumer insights using primary data and secondary data sources such as social listening and media planning tools
  • Contribute to all stages of market research projects from proposal up to analysis and reporting

 

In 12 months:

  • Be the primary resource for clients’ audience insights and research needs
  • Lead the implementation of research projects with the ability to deliver high quality outputs
  • Contribute to the identification of key topics for thought-leadership investigation and evaluation of tools and services

 

What your day job looks like at GroupM:

  • Provide support to users on media and research data and tools
  • Deliver internal/ client research projects from proposal, research design, vendor management to analysis and reporting
  • Produce newsletters with latest industry insights using primary or/ and secondary data to be shared with agency users and clients
  • Liaise with vendors to manage our tools and services
  • Ensure regular reports are delivered timely and accurately

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years professional research experience
  • Strong quantitative research skills, experience with qualitative research preferred
  • High quality standards in both setting research methods and delivering results
  • Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools
  • Good Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Fluent in both Cantonese and English
  • Attention to details and advanced written English for marketing communications and client reporting
  • Knowledge of media industry and TV ratings would be desired along with experience with media tools such as admango, GWI, NMI, social listening
