Wavemaker is an agency of GroupM, the world’s largest media investment company and is a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a Group Head - Investment to join us.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Director - Investment

Measure Of Success:
In three months:

  • Complete knowledge of your clients' benchmarks
  • Meeting day to day client requirements
  • Completely hands-on with the deal structuring, how to approach negotiations, standard SOPs for the clients and the Unit

In six months:

  • Start doing deals on some of the channels. Championing one genre
  • KPI Control (quantitative as well as qualitative parameters)/ data management for monthly meetings
  • You will be building a pipeline of new opportunities.

In 12 months:

  • You will need to contribute to the deal strategy and closure process
  • You will have the accountability of deals.
  • Start working on enhancing internal and external relationships.

 What your day job looks like at Wavemaker:

  • To assist the Investment Director in buying by providing necessary data – landscape
  • Data and deal construction/evaluation data
  • Understanding of BARC and fluency on operating the same.
  • To collate ratings and generate MIS reports on program performance, channel shares
  • To maintain deal tracking MIS
  • To assist in the production of post-buy reports, CPRP reports and quarterly reviews
  • To negotiate position upgrades during execution
  • To contribute towards innovation idea generation

  • First-class negotiation skills – delivery of a balanced approach to the marketplace
  • Well networked in the market
  • Extremely flexible attitude and an ability to read between the lines
  • Quick turnaround time & sharp analytical skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure. Able to handle tough situations with clients, auditors, internal stakeholders & media owners
  • Negotiate inventory availability and block as required as per deal
  • Compliance with internal / External Audit for your set of accounts
  • Creating internal reports, work on reports for the clients
  • Rigorous tracking of deals as per audit norms
  • Help team with market intelligence & structured data which help in structuring better deals
  • Willingness to learn and drive to succeed

Minimum qualifications:

  • 6 to 8 years of experience required.
  • High commitment & passion towards learning, growing & moving up your career
  • Extremely flexible attitude and an ability to read between the lines
  • Quick turnaround time & sharp analytical skill
