We are currently looking for an Exchange Lead to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for key agency KPIs including pricing and campaign commitments. By working with Mindshare Fulcrum teams, GMS teams respond timely to client briefs and ensure that campaign deliveries match agreed KPI’s and objectives.

The Exchange team adopts a collaborative and customer-centric approach in delivering high-value and innovative solutions for our Agencies’ and Agencies’ clients, including the activation and execution of dynamic media campaigns.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Head of GMS, GroupM India and Mindshare Fulcrum Head

In this role, your goals will be:
In three months:

  • To make a media plan from scratch to end basis Fulcrum ways of working which includes know-how of plan set up on the system and run pre-during-post checks.
  • Gain an understanding of the existing tools and have a POV on the backend logic

In six months:

  • Independently run the exchange team and ensure pre-post matches
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the media product and agency KPI delivery

In 12 months:

  • Create automation platforms for plan-making and tracking
  • Contribute cross-media on planning logic and client narrative of media product

What your day job looks like at GroupM:

Exchange Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Exchange team understands clients’ brand identity, agency deliverables and campaign KPI’s
  • Ensure the Exchange team understands media behaviours and how the target audience interacts with media
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve and enhance clients’ campaigns and advise other teams accordingly
  • Proactively address (and escalate) any issue that compromises the quality and timeliness of deliverables
  • Participate in client meetings when specific expertise is required
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure shared accountability to deliver value to clients
  • Work collaboratively with all specialists within the GMS to ensure a holistic approach to campaign execution and delivery
  • Conduct quality control and assurance of your own workstream before handing it over to another team
  • Ensure understanding and 100% compliance with finance processes
  • Ensure understanding and 100% compliance with GroupM policies and procedures

Individual Responsibilities

  • Lead a large team (30 plus people)
  • Facilitate team collaboration by working closely with senior stakeholders and overseeing all activities of the Biddable and Non-Biddable team
  • Be tasked with the management and long-term prioritization of the clients’ overall campaign implementation needs and opportunities
  • Oversee the day-to-day approaches of the team and explore innovative solutions
  • Take initiative in developing training programs within the team, and across GroupM Agencies’ stakeholders
  • Play a mentorship role to key personnel, constantly hone their professional skills, and prepare them for the future growth and promotion
  • Management in establishing departmental goals and strategies
  • Work with all internal stakeholders in defining the campaign implementation needs of the business, and to ensure high data quality and reliability across the business
  • Keep abreast of new technologies in order to constantly apply fresh perspectives to the business, both long term and short term
  • Proactively create opportunities that deliver profitable business
  • Any other project or tasks as assigned from time to time

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong understanding of agency ways of working and appreciation for the impact of campaign deliveries on agency revenues
  • Keen learner, self-starter and ability to run networks independently

  • Excellent leadership skills, including support and development of team
  • Strong relationship-building skills which include maintaining positive relationships in the agency ecosystem

Minimum qualifications:

  • 15+ years of working experience in media planning/buying, including 8+ years of team leadership experience
  • Have had a proven and successful experience in the execution of campaign implementation initiatives
  • Excellent computer skills and high proficiency in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint
  • Extensive knowledge in traditional and biddable digital media
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-changing environment
  • Leadership skills are intended as the ability to anticipate and remove barriers to productivity, drive teams towards clear goals, take effective decisions and challenge the status quo
  • Strive for excellence demonstrated by setting high standards for yourself and others, holding teams accountable, focusing on continuous optimization while mitigating risks
