Overview of job

Key strategic role in the Search & eCommerce pillar of the GroupM Services Team. The Search & eCommerce Specialist works together with the Team lead and agency client leadership teams to ensure delivery of performance driven campaigns.

Measures of success –

In three months:

  • Strong understanding of client business model
  • Mastery of all relevant Search & eCommerce UI’s and platforms
  • Build professional relationship with external vendors and lead performance driven strategies with clients within search and eCommerce channels
  • A keen understanding on the various platforms and systems which power search and eCommerce media
  • Work closely with Campaign Delivery Team & Client Leadership teams to optimize overall campaign performance
  • Receive great feedback from co-workers and key client contacts as a result of strong communication both internally and externally

In six months:

  • Driving cross-channel synergy – Connect the power of Search & eCommerce
  • Independently provide Search & eCommerce solutions towards ad-hoc request from clients
  • Flawless and timely Biddable media delivery that deliver against pre-determines KPIs
  • Have the Search & eCommerce – Senior Manager role under control & become a trusted advisor to the client by properly justifying recommendations, strong timeline management and delivering outcomes
  • Upskill Search & eCommerce – Specialists and manage workloads
  • Improved workflow efficiencies across the teams
  • Be on top of all the betas and innovations in the digital space and be able to articulate and share with internal and external stakeholders and how it could be relevant and useful to them

In 12 months:

  • Be comfortable in developing proposals and preparing Search & eCommerce media strategies in line with the overall campaign
  • Be able to lead and provide strategic insights on Search & eCommerce matters
  • Be confident in taking part in pitches whilst working together with the rest of the agency
  • The proof of your success will be clients’ satisfaction and increasing business profit / commercial results
  • Increase volumes for Paid Search & eCommerce
  • Work closely with Campaign Delivery & Client Leadership team members to develop integrated proposals for existing clients

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Expert in Search & eCommerce – responsible for planning & optimizing the effectiveness of Search & eCommerce Campaigns
  • Outstanding ability to think creatively & troubleshoot problems
  • Execute tests, collect & analyze data, identify trends & insights
  • Gain knowledge & experience to support team lead in developing search & eCommerce strategy for existing business and pitches
  • Keep pace with industry trends & developments – attempt to be first to market with innovative approaches
  • Search & eCommerce Champion and the POC within the group
  • Build close relationship with Vendors – Google, Bing, Lazada, Shopee, Zalora, Kenshoo, Adobe, Adgooroo, Squared, etc.
  • Track, report, and analyze website analytics
  • Working with SEO and Tech teams to support clients’ needs
  • Driving cross-channel synergy – Connect the power of Search & eCommerce
  • Be confident in taking part in pitches whilst working together with the rest of the team
  • Mastery of Tier I engine UIs and capabilities, relevant SEM and eCommerce management platforms and strong knowledge of Tier II vendors and capabilities
  • Maintain a deep understanding of client business goals and marketing objectives, translating them into digital objectives/strategies
  • Must have effective communication, planning, organizational, and problem-solving and analytic skills
  • Prepare and present strategic media recommendations to client and agency management, including objectives, strategy, rationale, and provide analysis and projections to support recommendations
  • Design and implement or oversee implementation of single and multi-variant tests to increase campaign efficiency
  • Supervise the implementation of all biddable media campaigns
  • Keep abreast of current events, digital media trends and any target market industry trends that impact business
  • Serve as expert in performance optimization
  • Team Management and Leadership
    • Delegate work effectively to teach direct reports, as well as deliver seamless work to client
    • Work with Search & eCommerce – Executive to fulfill set client strategies by creating deliverables and specific recommendations, including account structure and implementation, optimizations, conditional testing, tracking, and overall management
    • Supervise, guide and counsel Search & eCommerce – Specialists on all day-to-day activities and ensure that all processes are followed
    • Train the team in media and marketing disciplines as well as the specifics of the client’s business and industry
    • Accurately, objectively, and constructively evaluate performance of Search & eCommerce – Specialists via talent development process
    • Contributing to an environment where ‘Innovation as usual’ thrives in everyday work
  • Keep media and agency partners updated and informed on status of all account projects
  • Initiate appropriate cross-functional client meetings
  • Lead in Client / Agency calls as the day-to-day product group representative from the team

What you will need:

  • Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in a biddable media role and managing an exec
  • Good understanding of all Search and eCommerce platforms (Google Ads – Search, Shopping, YouTube, GDN, etc./ eCommerce – Lazada, Shopee, Amazon, etc.)
  • Strong copywriting skills as part of the job requires creating compelling ad copy that is relevant to the campaign yet is still within vendor specifications
  • Proven record of success in running audience-based/performance driven/direct response campaigns
  • Comfortable using Microsoft excel and manipulating dashboards – An analytical mind that is creative as well as data driven to identify trends/patterns and insights
  • Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, and/or communications preferred
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent understanding of media fundamentals
  • Strong quantitative skills, including analytical abilities and math proficiency
  • Ability to work within and effectively manage a team, decisively organizing multiple assignments for both self and team direct reports
  • Adherence to tight deadlines while delivering flawless work
  • Extremely business-minded and detail-oriented, with clear and proven organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Show ability in training and leadership capability
  • Demonstrate genuine curiosity and interest in our clients & their business
