Red Fuse HK is a fully integrated regional agency dedicated to Colgate Palmolive (CP) across Asia. It comprises professionals from Wavemaker and Ogilvy, each offering the specialist skills required to deliver best in class integrated planning for CP in the region. 

CP is one of Wavemaker’s largest client in the region and is active in HK, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, India, Pakistan, China, Australia and the new, exciting countries of Cambodia and Myanmar. CP has a dominant share across most of the markets where it is active. It is also one of the best loved brands in both India and the Philippines.

The relationship with the regional client team is seen as a true partnership – regular monthly meetings, open and honest discussions, nights out on the town and even an integrated client/ agency football team. The Role:

This role is part of the media team at Red Fuse, and you will be part of an exciting journey as Colgate digitally transforms its business and communications. The team is being restructured and is full of exciting new talent that will help in this transformation.

We are looking for someone who has both experience in network management as well as solid & broad knowledge across all media and media strategy, preferably on a regional or global client.  And we expect this person to hit the ground running in building relationships with local agency teams and with key clients at the centre.

As we are fully dedicated to one client, we also need someone who is excited about transformation, is willing to roll her/his sleeves up and would like to get involved in many facets of our work. At Red Fuse, you will get to experience the whole marketing communication process working with various teams  - from analysing business requirements , to building strategy and supporting creative teams and working closely with our Wavemaker teams in the markets to build best-in-class consumer experience plans.

We want someone who has energy, sparkle, and a passion for media. Someone who wants to share their ideas and concepts on our work to make us an even better team. You will have the support of a fantastic media team of deep specialists in their area (from tech, to data and strategy).

This role will also give you the opportunity to build your skills as a leader acting as the right-hand person of the Media Lead: on a wide range of stakeholders in a large and complex matrix organisation like WPP and on a prestigious client like Colgate.

 

Key responsibilities

Including but not limited to:  

  • Key player in the annual plan process, developing the briefing and strategy together with the Media Lead and working with up to 11 local  Wavemaker agencies
  • Assisting on commercials and scoping issues across all Wavemaker agencies
  • Delivering important board and campaign reports for the client
  • Mentoring/supporting the Senior Media Executive and assisting her in her key reporting tasks
  • Working with the Red Fuse network (especially the Red Fuse global team) on relevant guidelines and directives as it relates to APAC needs
  • Providing a media lens on priority IMCs (marketing plans) working with the Audience Director and Comms Director in the team
  • Helping to deliver a ‘kick-ass’ virtual regional media conference for our Wavemaker and Colgate teams across APAC
  • Coordinating market meetings, townhalls and cascades
  • Supporting the delivery of the annual plan framework together with senior members of the team
  • Build relationships with key media owners such as Tik Tok, Grab, Line, Facebook and Google at a regional level
  • Provide a POV and thought leadership where needed
  • Manage the monthly media calls and priority topics (coordinating Red Fuse and Wavemaker teams on what the priorities are)

Key skills/ requirements

This role would suit a senior media manager looking for a step up and who is hungry to progress their career.  The person should come from a media agency:  ideally a large and matrix organisation. 

  • 5-10 years in a media agency, local or international role  
  • Strong ‘through the line’ media knowledge. Must understand other media other than digital
  • Media strategy/planning experience
  • Some understanding of agency commercials
  • Quick and agile in approach
  • Very good attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Open to travel (whenever things open up)
  • Confident and regular presenter of own work

Expectations:

In three months:

  • Build a solid understanding of the Colgate Palmolive business, and its global and regional structure
  • Create trust with local Wavemaker teams
  • Presented to clients at least twice on key projects

 

 

In Six Months:

  • Delivered a new process that helps the media team or the Wavemaker network work more efficiently or effectively
  • Have led at least three strategic projects (Be it an IMC, a conference, townhall, thought piece etc)

In Twelve months:

  • Be a trusted partner to the clients working in partnership with the Media Lead
  • Have received positive feedback from the clients (anecdotally or as part of the agency evaluation)
