Role Summary

We are currently looking for an Associate Strategy Director to join our high performing Sydney team. Our ambition is to be the most revered strategy team in Australia, if not the world. The traditional, black box thinking approach doesn’t cut it here! And we’re winning the awards to prove it – winning 13 across the Global Festival of Media 2022, the MFAs 2021 and the Festival of Media Asia 2022, as well as winning Campaign Asia’s silver award for Agency of The Year.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding how to determine where growth will come from
  • Creating audience personas using client and industry tools. 
  • Create customer journeys and understanding the behaviour in the category
  • Developing shaping principles – how connections will influence the desired outcome. 
  • Working collaboratively in the agency to come up with strategic innovative media solutions. 
  • Co-creating the strategy with the planners (so that they can invest in right POSE channel mix to deliver the desired action/outcomes). 
  • Creating a metric and measurement plan (POSE). 
  • Contributing to Post analysis. 
  • Run occasional workshops and brainstorms (big and small). The head of strategy will train you on how to develop workshop plans and facilitation techniques. 
  • Working with your director and the client team you will need to effectively manage outputs and timelines for various strategic projects that will be happening all at once. 
  • Support new business pitches (with Head of Strategy and/or CSO). 
  • Support strategy on integrated group pitches and projects as and when they arise. This will be directed through Head of Strategy and/or CSO. 
  • Become an expert in all MediaCom’s strategy and planning tools. 
  • Case study preparation of outstanding work. 
  • Support Head of Strategy in preparation of marketing materials – creative hype reels, year book etc External thought leadership. 

Experience Required

  • Previous experience ideally in a strategy function, but also potentially a planning function 
  • The ability to work with data to develop insights and recommendations for clients 
  • A creative spark! And a desire to create famous work. 
  • A collaborative attitude and approach to solving problems
  • A mastery of your strategic capability, and a basic understanding across other forms of strategy, including, but not limited to: Brand strategy, communications strategy, digital & media strategy 
  • A constant curiosity to challenge the status-quo
