GroupM TV 18 is seeking Business Director – Strategy with at least 8-10 years of experience who would be responsible for a wide spectrum of work- Provokes strategic media planning with innovation at heart, Explores new consumer trends and the brands role in leveraging these, Challenges the old order and make way for the new thinking. Collaborates with the client and the internal GroupM resources to create winning solutions.

In this role, your goals will be: 

In three months:  

  • Build relationships with the key decision makers at client side and within the company 
  • Be an expert on the client’s business proactively engaging with senior clients and actively shaping the quality of the Wavemaker delivery. 
  • Developed a deep understanding and begun to use the Wavemaker planning product and tool 

In six months: 

  • Proactively delivering additional value to the client, leading the team to successfully implement ideas that will improve the Wavemaker delivery and client’s business outcomes. 
  • Established as the lead by both clients and the internal team alike; strong client service ways of working established with strong team communication. 


In 12 months: 

  • Considered a ‘business’ leader for the client and for Wavemaker, providing solutions that deliver a tangible business benefit for both client and agency. 
  • Activating a business plan that delivers success to the client and secures Wavemaker's client relationship, leading client, product, people,commercial andprofile initiatives 


What your day job looks like at Wavemaker: 

  • Manage the functioning of the entire strategy planning team 
  • Provide strategy communications and planning leadership on the client’s business across categories 
  • Partner with the GM, to define clear briefs, Target Audiences with clearly articulated campaign KPIs 
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of consumers and consumer segmentation to derive insights 
  • Infuse best in class media practices, both from domestic as well as international learnings 
  • Communicate embedded learning to increase impact of insights into action 
  • Communicate complex ideas/insights in a way that all understand and apply 
  • Integrate relevant multimedia opportunities into campaign plans

Minimum qualifications: 

  • 9-12 years’ experience in managing media planning/communication strategy & client relationships 
  • Strong understanding of brands & consumers 
  • Highly passionate, collaborative, outgoing, creative media leader and thinker  
  • Strong presentation skills  
  • Highly articulate, story-telling capability  
  • Business acumen  
  • Ability to understand mediums beyond ATL  
  • Excellent communication/presentation/client management skills  
  • Deep understanding of all media especially Digital. Experience in Mobile Marketing preferred
