Wavemaker is an agency of GroupM, the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a Media Planning Associate Director/ Director to join us.

In this role, you will be responsible to develop best in class media solutions for your clients and to develop client's media strategy plan, campaign development process, and drive innovations.

In this role, your goals will be:
In three months:

  • Establish a strong relationship of trust and respect within all members of the digital /planning team
  • Cultivate a strong understanding of the digital landscape, ecosystem, key client businesses (past work, challenges, future objectives)
  • Establish a strong working relationship with the business leadership

In six months:

  • Add incredible value to existing key clients by bringing in fresh perspectives, knowledge and experience to shape up client’s digital media plans and strategies
  • Establish strong relationships with GroupM stakeholders, partner/publisher ecosystem, key client stakeholders
  • Be able to scope out and build a new business pipeline

In 12 months:

  • Deliver annual revenue targets across existing and new clients
  • Drive thought leadership by crafting relevant thought pieces to be shared with clients on a regular basis, contributing to trade publications, speaking at conferences/events

What your day job looks like at Wavemaker:

  • Stay on top of the Taiwan digital landscape, global digital trends, digital media/platform changes and updates
  • Overseeing delivery across clients’ digital media requirements
  • Manage senior client level consulting on digital media strategies and optimization techniques to drive effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Lead all key senior client relationships with regards to digital media
  • Develop knowledge of client’s business, competition  trends
  • Support the group leadership on new business pitches where digital plays a key role

What you’ll bring:

  • Passion toward advertising, marketing, digital, data and analytics
  • High-level digital media planning skills, strategy with a clear linkage to brand/marketing objectives
  • Knowledge of a majority of tech available to use for digital marketing
  • People management skills; a macro manager, not a micro-manager in order to focus on the larger picture to drive business growth
  • Detail orientation and an ability to be extremely organized
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced agency environment
  • Some working knowledge on platforms such as Facebook, Google preferred
  • Client facing ability is a must with a strong grip on clear storytelling and presentation skills

Minimum qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of media investment and planning experience with at least some recent high level strategy work clients (with this seniority, knowledge of offline media is expected)
  • Media agency/ performance media/ biddable media experience
  • Experience with one of Entertainment/ Performance clients
  • Experience within performance marketing/demand generation
  • Proven leadership ability – have managed a team of planners & operators
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Resourceful, with validated analytic and problem solving skills
  • Client management skills to get along with partners at multiple levels in the media planning process
  • Mindset towards process optimization, both through manual processes and through technology
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and on multiple projects from both client side and regional office, demonstrating a mature ability to handle many things at once in a dynamic environmen
